Can you get flying BFA without SL?
I was working on pathfinder back before SL. I’m playing now and trying to figure out where i was… and don’t have SL yet. I remember the was an intricate tracking system or something for pathfinder…idk.
Also… should i actually get SL or just wait for DF?
Thanks all… good times!
You can get bfa flying without SL and it’s your choice on getting the expansion.
I don’t see why you wouldn’t be able to. It’s not SL content.
You should be able to search for your progress by finding the Pathfinder parts 1 and 2 achievements in that window.
No one can tell you if you should get SL or not. If you’re fine playing the game for another ~year without the current content, then you don’t have to buy it. SL will probably be rolled into some part of the base game when DF launches anyway.
If you’re having enough fun with BfA, and you think you can milk it for another year, Id stick with BfA. SL will come with the next expansion. Unpopular take, but I actually kinda liked BfA, more so than SL. Stormsong Valley is my second home!
It is probably the most convoluted flying acquisition i’ve ever seen. If you want it good luck, after seeing all of the requirements…I can understand why people weren’t so worried about flying being tied to reknown with SL.
https://www.wowhead.com/flying this can help you out where you were abouts.
eh? It’s just ticking boxes doing world content:
It’s a lot to do (since it was designed to be done over the course of a few months), and they should probably just get rid of these requirements for old expansions, but I wouldn’t call it convoluted.
In fairness, the actual process did feel convoluted. The actual requirements is just explore stuff, get revered etc. but unlocking mechagon and doing the process there did suck.
Have you done Draenor Pathfinder? THAT is the most convoluted one.
Rustbolt rep is annoying, but definitely not as hard as that one was.

When it was current content, you were unlocking Mechagon and spending time there anyway. It’s not like you had to deal with all the crafting stuff and hunting for drops just to get flight, or anything.
Ok wow! Thanks!
I did actually get thru Draenor flying.
That was tough! I might as well check out those Pathfinder things.
I stopped purchasing new expansions due to Pathfinder. Finally started playing BFA when SL came out. To paraphrase another poster: Pathfinder in BFA was truly a slog. It was worth it for me, I just love flying so much, but I actually stopped playing WOW for several months once I completed this task…I really needed a break from this ‘game’. Thankfully the link supplied above, to help track our progress completing required task for Pathfinder, makes it easier but it doesn’t make it enjoyable. Due to Pathfinder I no longer spend hours playing and have stopped recommending WOW.
