hi there. so this may seem like a silly question but i’ve searched the internet high and low for an answer, including icy veins forum, wowhead, reddit, etc. gotten both yes and no answers. i was gone through bfa and want to know if i need to grind the 2 pathfinder acheivs to get flying or if we will get it automatically at some point in the near future. thank you so much
Currently you still do. No official position has been taken on whether it may change in the future AFAIK.

This topic makes me feel ill every time I read it. I wasted a ridiculous amount of time on this obsolete trash (the BfA Pathfinder) before eventually giving up on the months-long world quest grind that it dumps you into. I was unfortunately hoping for something more realistic/optimistic than what I read from other very angry players before me. I was wrong, they were right. Don’t waste your time. Blizzard wants you landlocked in BfA. You play their slot machine longer that way.

I just started BFA content to unlock Kul’Tirans and am really not looking forward to unlocking flying. Why can’t it be simple or the requirements removed?
It is stupid game design.
I don’t know why flying for the Battle for Azeroth expansion content is still gated behind quests and other requirements. I do know that for the Warlords of Draenor content that flying was no longer gated behind a Pathfinder achievement after quite some time.
Hoping Blizzard does the same for other previous expansions that have flying gated behind a Pathfinder achievement. Doesn’t make sense to me why they still are.
In my opinion, Just have Pathfinder flying gated for the current expansion. Once the expansion is over, Then remove the requirements and just let players buy the flying rights for that particular expansion.

Update: Blizzard has announced that the requirements for flying in BFA zones will be lifted this Tuesday when Patch 10.0.7 comes out!

Just wanted to provide an update I recently discovered online regarding flying in Battle for Azeroth content when Patch 10.1 comes out!
Blizzard has plans in Patch 10.1 to remove flying from being unlocked via having to do the Pathfinder achievements! Great news for everyone that still doesn’t have flying unlocked for that particular expansion - And for all new players that still have to do Battle for Azeroth content first when they first start the game!
