BfA depreciation thread

What were your most hated aspects of BfA.

Mine:

PvP gearing
Essences
Corruptions
WPvP lag
Overtuned PvE Trinkets

I loved Essences! Pretty rad.

RNG to get elite warfront set
PvP Vendor
Corruption Debuffs on alts (I hate the eye and slow, the apparition was okish)
Legendary Cloak quest
High price on Vision Vessels
What they did with Sylvs was total bull*%@

The crap story that ruined two of the most liked Horde characters and made several mediocre ones worse.

This was one of my major bugbears too.

Mine was RNG M+ box and corruptions being tied to unique raid weapons, legit worst game design ever.

For as bad as different aspects of BfA were, the story was easily the worst. This is some of the worst writing WoW has ever seen, and it’s really frustrating to experience as a player who has loved the lore.

Outside of the story:
-Essences
-Corruptions
-Azerite
-Islands and Warfronts were a huge let down
-8.3 as a patch was dull

The day it was announced till the prepatch for SL were my most hated moments.

The endless Azerite grind. It should have capped at 60, because as of tomorrow it was completely pointless.

oh, this is easy: rep-timegating, and corruption effects. not the abilities corruption gave, the effects. the, inky-effects that ruined transmogs, and made my computer lag. hate that crap.

the in-ability to just grind-out the rep necessary for allied races, was a massive, MASSIVE pain in my side. i just wanted my allied races, and by the time i unlocked them, i was burnt out. needless to say, it was infuriating. i mean… i unlocked’em all, but still, god-DANG that was hell.

also, the wasted opportunities that were warfronts, and islands.

Running over 3000 island expeditions to get all the mounts and pets.

And then only getting them because they added a vendor.

As is everything from a previous expansion once a new one launches… :man_facepalming:

The nonsensical handling of the War of Thorns, from Sylvanas’s “reasoning” to the actual war depicted in the prepatch

The equally nonsensical war campaign, where both sides got to feel like losers

Azerite gear

Nazjatar bodyguard system

Grinding the cape over…and over…and over…the madness of N’zoth would be a mercy compared to unlocking that bloody cape one more time

Basically IMPLEMENTATION.

In retrospect… BfA would be a good better expansion if Developers would not have been so stubborn and would have listened to the players in the beginning.

Azerite got better after being fixed.
Essences got better after being fixed.
Corruptions got better after being fixed.

You see the pattern here?

Micro managing players has been the most frustrating part of this expansion.

Visions would have been amazing is they weren’t capped.
Corruptions would have been great and Alt friendly is they weren’t RNG and then later on Rotation.
Essences would have been Alt friendly had they been Account-Wide.

Honestly, very little is what was needed to make BfA good. Sadly they completely refused to take that little step.

oh frig, i almost forgot about all that. yup, bfa’s faction-war dynamic was trash too. i remember someone asking ion when the horde will get their ‘for the horde!’ moment and he promised it was coming. not once did we get that, now did we?

also, sylvanas in-general was awful. long-gone are the days of the bikini-top, and actual military stratedgy. now she got triggered and went nuts.
