BFA, by far the worst, still some fun stuff

Hello!

I’m here today to declare that out of all the xpacs I’ve seen, BFA is by far my least favorite and what I’d consider the worst.

The main reason is the state that PVP is in. After the GCD changes and even further pruning of classes by only allowing them to select 3 honor talents, it was a bit upsetting but I enjoyed season one a lot. Another thing that’s been a huge headache are % based abilities like Greater Pyroblast, an ability that can turn 300 ilvl mages into more efficient damage dealers than your main toons. I got so mad when I started playing my mage as fire because I spent zero time on him and yet, greater pyroblast allows me to compete with horrible gear.

Sadly the worst was yet to come… They introduced Maledict trinkets, and believe it or not I LOVE them. I think they’re hilarious! Especially in BGs… so I’m not all against this xpac’s ideas related to PVP.

But the very very worst thing to happen is the PVE items being abused in PVP. Why is it that high rated MAGES and ROGUES are using Diamond Laced Refracting Prism, post nerf even?! Why is it that my characters best in slot is this item, yet it could never be looted by me and I would need say stream followers to help me get one. Absolutely unacceptable to put players in that position.

These things have made PVP unfun for many of us, but there are things I enjoy about this xpac a lot. Island Expos I find to be a lot of fun, the PVP ones especially… Believe it or not the opening quest lines when I was first leveling my mains were a lot of fun… the art team did a great job and we finally made it out of the green fel era. I thoroughly enjoyed questing up to 120.

Reaping is by far my favorite M+ affix. Some affixes are still breaking dungeons like Necrotic in the Orb part of Temple… but I still enjoy playing M+ despite some of these hiccups…

I am hopeful for this xpac still though many are not, but the PVP side of things needs to be taken more seriously by our developers. That is my opinion and I hope you enjoyed it.

Thing is some people want a more fair and balanced PvP experience and some others want a more RP and character progression focused variant.

Blizzard has tried both in the past and to me the game was least fun when they went all out on trying to balance everything like they did in Legion with templates.

They should have never changed the Resilience system that was active up until WoD ( PvP power was basically the same ).
PvP would be in a much better state and I still wish they would just admit their mistakes and go back to the roots but since were talking about Blizzard it’s about as likely as an unprune.

I have no hope for future expansions either, I forced myself in that believe in WoD and then in Legion, I won’t get my hopes up again just be be disappointed even more.

My only hope of enjoying this game again somewhere in the future is if classic goes well and they then start releasing expansions again, up until WoD everything was basically fine.

I agree for the most part, Legion Templates were kind of weird but… Sadly I feel those templates made the game a lot more fun than losing to people with Tridents and Void Stones on your alts…

I’m not sure what an equal balance would be. Only PVP trinkets working in PVP? That could be nice. Nobody wants to try to get a diamond laced refracting prism on their rogue.

The crucible items were just a huge slap to the face for PVPers. Everything that people didn’t want and they still go ahead and made uber broken raid items that are now somewhat required to even compete in PVP.

As I said I still felt the resilience system was Blizzards best approach of balancing PvP, you usually had to sacrifice survivability when wearing a PvE piece but when used right it had the potential to turn you into a glass cannon like full armor pen warriors in WoltK for example.

again I don’t believe there is a perfect solution to this whole balance ≠ fun problem PvP has had for the entirety of its existence but I don’t think the Template system or the scaling we have now are anywhere close to being as decent as the resilience system was.

they are constantly trying to reinvent the wheel like so many people have said before and they are completely destroying their game in the process while at the same time being to proud to admit that they made big mistakes and just backpedal with some stuff like pruning, vendors and resilience for example.
