This wasn’t assumed? I mean they did go through all of that trouble to plug it into modern infrastructure for the very reason of using those backend systems.

Not surprising. I imagine it’s an effective bug reporting system for them.

This also means that the client has been accessed, meaning more news soon.

Yea. Blizz is just letting us stew. This was a calculated move.

That actually is the part of this I’m most curious about… I wasn’t aware there was a downloadable form of the client yet, so I don’t really understand how he has a client to work with to even launch a virtual server for himself.

I am not sure, but apparently it is possible. I am not even sure this type of post will stay up long. Blizzard may not approve.

That screenshot also shows 1.12 items across the board most likely.

(I admit I don’t know, unless the CDN just lets anybody download stuff from it)

Screenshots leaked of the login screen earlier today, I am not going to pretend to understand how it was done but from what I understand it is real.

My understanding is that the CDN (the public-facing one, anyway) works like an FTP site.

You need to know what file you want to download, with the exact file name and address, but once you know that you can just download it. And since it’s public-facing and intended to be downloaded by people, it’s possible to scrape its contents (which is how people learned that the beta was up on it in the first place), and once you’ve got its contents structure, well, you can download anything on there.

It would be possible for Blizzard to encrypt even their public-facing CDN and only allow (for example) the b.net app to download from it, but I don’t think that would really be worth the effort. It’s the public-facing one, they want people to download these things in the end. Restricting it would just make it harder to use for legitimate downloads, and the people datamining would just find some way to spoof their packets with wrappers anyway to make it appear to be from whatever thing Blizzard required.

Great. Auto-report and bans for nothing.

Gonna love it… Try to PvP and play the game like how it should be played and you’ll get reported a million times cuz you killed somebody for a lotus and get banned. lol…

Im not happy about the report features being in Classic but understand it makes things REAL easy for them, but it just seems like it’s gonna be toxic for the players of the game.

I am a “No quarter, no mercy” type of player when it comes to PvP and I can just see this being… a little bit more than a headache

You have misunderstood what is confirmed. Although it is very likely that the feature you are thinking of will be in Classic, this thread is about the new “Report A Bug” method that Blizzard added to the BFA 8.2 PTR.

Different system. This is for reporting bugs.

To Clarify: Auto loot as in set button to one click loot, not AoE loot, right?

AoE loot would drastically favor mage for aoe farming efficiency.

Thanks for the info, and that makes sense…

Dang Blizzard for daring to squelch, silence and perma-ban bugs for no reason! The bug was there, minding it’s own business when an ESS JAY DUBYA got triggered by its presence and reported it to Blizzard. Don’t Blizzard know that bug didn’t do anything wrong? GOSH DARN, I AM SO ANGRY!

:)

(to clarify, I am joking here, please no hate)

That’s correct.

The biggest piece of information I’m taking from the screenshot is that BRE appears to have it’s buffed stats. Therefore I’m assuming that all itemization will be in the 1.12 state and the 1.10 loot change will only effect loot that was added that patch or moved in drop locations. In other words, if loot existed pre 1.10, it will be available in its 1.12 state at launch. At least that’s what Im taking from it.

Just watch Tips’ youtube video. I found it humorous when he saw things he liked they were “confirmed” but for things he didn’t like (auto loot) it was “don’t worry, beta’s aren’t final”.
