WotLK needed no video hype. Everyone was genuinely interested to see what it was about. Fast forward to BfA: 10 or more YouTube non in-game cinematics are released as carrots to keep the story going while plot caught up to patches.
It was so good it had to reuse a Vanilla raid for its intro raid
It was so amazing that the Lich King essentially became a Scooby-doo villian of “I’ll get you guys next time!”
Totally didn’t ruin Anub’arak either.
But, everybody hadn’t yet had their classes gutted and core abilities made into PvP talents. And CRZ hadn’t yet arrived to delete server identity and community. Was it 100% flawless? No, but it would be amusing to see how Wrath Classic would do.
Honestly I think wotlk was the style they should have went with. It has some aspects from the new cata wow like the leveling and lore while having rpg elements from the old wow. TBC was just more vanilla so idk if it’s better and bfa got the cool animations but took my doomguard away and has not given me more demons to replace it with in my rp soooo idk about bfa I’ll keep waiting thou
