Seems like Blizz dropped a wall in front of arch leveling with BfA. I’ve been leveling arch on one of my characters over the past few days, and BfA has just about brought it to a halt. I started doing arch in BfA zones around 785, when leveling it in legion zones slowed down, and soon realized that completing an artifact was no longer rewarding levels - I was only getting levels from gathering fragments. Gathering went to yellow difficulty right around 800 so that it wasn’t a guaranteed skillup anymore, and once I got to about 875 it went to green so the level up rate really dropped. Now I’m 898 and have gone through multiple digsites without a single skillup. Is this really how it’s supposed to go, or am I doing something wrong? I mean I expect it to slow down now that I’m working on leveling the profession through the current xpac’s levels, but I’m not even leveling anymore when I go through multiple digsites without gaining a level and still 50 more to go.
This is likely what Blizzard defaulted to for BfA. Considering it is the only profession not to be tiered, I am personally wondering if they just ran out of time to implement anything else.
However, starting with the January DMF, you should be able to get 5 points per month again, at least based on December PTR testing by other players.
It did slow toward the end, but I was max level by the time I finished all the BfA Archeology Achievements.
I must have just been having bad luck last night. Working on it again now and I’m probably averaging 2 levels per dig site. Slow, but reasonably so.
I can’t even get a dig site to show up so mine is dead in the water
The character you posted on isn’t even the level that you can learn archaeology. If you are referring to another character, you can only get digsites in certain areas based on archaeology level.
