My problem with BFA was how they did the story, how badly Islands was. And how I felt the time I invest in it. Did not give me a reward. I felt like I was running in mud.
My problem in wod was, it felt more like a mobile game. I log on do my garrison and was like now what?
kind of funny the grinds are right back soon as you hit 60 they make sure to keep sending you to the maw, torghast etc. leveling up the covenant same old thing, it’s just new guess we will see how long people enjoy the grinds this time before bored. oh ya the rng legendaries are back again to awesome.
That’s your opinion and not everyone’s. For me, I will agree some on the story as it was yet again horde based but IE’s were fun and have/had great potential. If I was into pvp it would have been awesome to do mythic. But the potential is there. At least they added and tried new things.
WoD only felt that way to those who didn’t raid. If you say you did then I know you are lying because heroic/mythic took some time to complete. Yes WoD you could sit in your garrison and that is why people fel that way and those same people only did LFR and maybe some normal mode raiding.
Don’t spread horsesheet. BFA and WOD were both almost universally praised for a the first month or so during leveling, because their leveling campaign was actually pretty decent. It’s everything after that was terrible. The fact that we’re in week 1 and all of my friends are “meh” at best for Shadowlols, with most seeing all of the problems that are coming? Yeah, this is BFA 1.5 and going to be a massive fail.
couldn’t trade azerite…like at all…no matter the ilvl
all the passive traits were bis (super boring)
M+ didn’t drop azerite, so if you wanted a specific piece you had to /pray you won a 1 in 1000 dice roll in your weekly chest (titan residuum was added later to address this)
lazer matrix pulling every mob through the floors of every dungeon
MOTHER was bugged
had to grind islands until your eyes bled to use your armor
warfronts were being AFKd constantly
every class had been pruned and felt super slow and clunky
GCD changes compounded this
Idk what xpac you are remembering, but it wasn’t BFA
I’m one of those players who actually think BFA wasn’t really all that bad, but it was at it’s weakest at the start where there were a number of bugs and poorly implemented features.
WOD was good for about a month, while you were still progressing your garrison. After that you ran out of stuff to do, and it went downhill from there.
Also we should not forget that Legion also started rather poorly, with all kinds of balancing issues due to the poorly implemented legendary system. The result that people called it World of RNGcraft. Legion was slammed in the early stages, and as a hunter I was particularly unhappy with what happened to our class. Legion became good later on, after the poor systems were improved and RNG mitigated.
It’s posts like the OP that convince me that most people on the WOW forums have very short and/or very selective memories.
I remember seeing problems in WoD, (Legion) and BfA very early on only to be dismissed by honeymooners who would later be some of the saltiest haters a few months in. Across various forums, mind you.
