title. even uninstalling the addon, I can no longer shift click a mog piece to track like a quest…
Better Wardrobe works fine on my end. Did you by chance modify or update the addon?
nope, I just installed it for the first time yesterday, it changed my collections UI how it was supposed to but I noticed I couldn’t track transmogs like the 10.1.5 patch introduced…so I disabled it, still nothing.
Uninstalled it, still nothing. I can no longer track transmogs like quests.
Wait, so the only issue you’re having is that it’s not tracking the new transmogs?
It’s been throwing up errors for me lately. Hopefully they fix it soon.
I suspect there is another addon causing the issue.
Sometimes addons will interact badly with one another and it will look like one addon is the problem, when it’s actually another.
I suggest disabling ALL addons, then enabling ONLY Better Transmog and seeing what happens.
I had no issues with tracking transmogs as quests per the new 10.1.5 feature…
the only thing that changed was me installing this better transmog addon…it immediately disappeared as a function and doesn’t work.
uninstalling the addon should have reverted any changes it made but it seems to be permanently blocking the ability to track appearances…that’s a big problem because it tells me it must have changed something permanently and not reverted it upon uninstalling the addon.
so now it seems I have to reinstall the entire game just to be able to get that new feature back… that’s not OK.
That’s not always true.
Sometimes you need to disable everything and run the game without addons to clear ones that are being pernicious.
Again, though, I suspect the issue is not BT&W. It needs an update, but I can tell you I have had no issues and errors since the new patch.
Without knowing all the other addons you run, I can only surmise this is an interaction with another addon you use.
The addon creator has not updated the addon since April. Also try manually installing the addon from Github, authors tend to use that site more then curseforge.
but why would this issue suddenly crop up when that addon is installed and suddenly its another addons fault that I can’t track transmogs? not sure how that makes sense
at the very minimum, this addon caused it because to your point, it’s outdated and must be conflicting with the new update.
the only other addons I have are raidIO, weakauroras, pawn, details, DBM, recount, and reflex.
I tried disabling all addons and I still cant shift+click to track something.
That’s not always how coding works, and your misunderstanding of that doesn’t make what I said not true.
Disable all of your addons and just run the one and let us know what happens.
^ This is troubleshooting 101. If you’re not willing to do this, we can’t help you further.
already tried that, see above comment, it’s still broken…addon permanently broke my UI and now I have to possibly reinstall. they need to update it ASAP.
also, checking on curseforge, the top most recent comment is:
"Addon is blocking the new tracking appearances feature added to the game in 10.01.5 "
Pull your WTF folder to your desktop and start the game again. It will write a new WTF for you. You shouldn’t need to reinstall the game.
i use WoWup for that stuff, will it break that if i move the folder?
The WTF folder has nothing to do with WoWUp.
lol okay, let me try that, appreciate your patience
Keep in mind: this is just to fix your UI first.
Removing the WTF will wipe out all previous changes to anything, including all of your addons (this can be mitigated later when you’ve fixed the UI).
Edit: Make sure you MOVE the WTF folder to your Desktop, don’t just copy it. Moving it maintains the info but removes it from WoW seeing it (and will write a new folder to replace it).
nope that didn’t work.
oh well, guess I just wont use the new feature i guess, because there’s no way I’m reinstalling
It didn’t fix your UI either?
Not necessarily. You need to do a full UI reset.
