Hello Blizzard,
This is a formal request for better capes. The capes of today are just not appealing and in some cases they are just sad. My character on Guild Wars 1 has a better looking cape than the any cape Blizzard has released since Vanilla. One could argue that even Old School RuneScape has better capes than World of Warcraft.
Can we please get some real physics and some particle effects? I would love if they were on the same level of “cool” factor as shoulders and helms, just think of the cash shop potential too!

I want a cloak like my AC Valhalla viking’s cloak. I’m here to conquer and frighten, not look like I belong on the back of a cereal box.

I have a hunch that the new flappy cape shoulderpad items assigned to the trading post could be a test of new cloak tech before it’s actually implemented. Y’know, just to see how it plays with clipping and collision for a while.
Then again, I play a male Draenei and that comes with an anti-gravity field over my tail for cloaks, so what do I know about clipping?

What I dont like about capes is that they dont have any type of glowy/flame/shadow or any sort of visual effect like shoulders, weapons and helms do.
No capes! They get caught on things… get you sucked into jet engines.

I can get behind more practical capes.

I will agree on this! We do need better capes!
Very few games can pull off capes sadly. Apparently programing the physics can be a nightmare and then we have a chuck of the community in all games that have mayor issues with the clipping weather is minor or huge, so devs just up to not put the effort like ESO… (they were originally going to add capes however it was very buggy and the community complain so the took it off or so I heard from the old guard of vet players who started playing since beta)
And then we have GW2 that takes it so far that you cant look anywhere without seeing a winged, player shinning so bright with all their combine armor and back item FX that you can barely tell what their waring and are “literally” an eye sore, not because it looks bad but because its literally too bright. (you either need to get away or if there are many doing an event you need to tone down the brightness)
FF14 takes a interesting approach that they add some chest armors with capes however not everyone in FF14 likes that… and I see they added shoulder capes in the WoW Trader so maybe we can see better capes or better ways to combine them.
I’m hopeful for the Future, after DF, WoW is hitting all my “Must have that cosmetic” points for my PC fashion Needs! I just NEED to look good for does rare WoW cinematics.
Still struggling with some changes to classes (Miss my Shadow Priest built where I would just use Mind seer to flood the screen with shadows it look so cool! And Warlocks affliction old soul swap…hope they add New Shawdowflame affliction dot that spread’s them all your DoTs info a flashy burning spectacle to all who touch your main target kind of like the previews soul swap but more “flashy and burning!” lol) but all and all the game has improve so much, I love it!
I want long coats and other types of coat and jacket type back items.

Cloaks with effects or augment shoulders/chests/helms would be neat.
I hope they add those shoulder capes to the Trading Post every month in new colors! I need more!

They need more of the bows with holiday themed icons on them. The one from the trading post this moth will tie together so many ideas.
Hide cloak is the only option I use
