Sudden demise: i don’t know how popular this talent is, but tbh i would rather see somthing like the current set bonus envenomous explosion added as a capstone to pair with rapid injection for a more poison based funnel play style in M+.
Deathstalker hero talent tree: Please add garrote with ambush as a means of applying the marks. Now that they cant be written over, this should be fine and in M+ allows us to continue to open with garrote/rupture and not feel pressure to ambush quickly before getting the energy engine running.
Caustic Splatter: best talent change made to the spec in a long time very fun to play around, would like to see ambush added to this talent as a way to apply the debuff.
Thank you for removing nightstalker from the rogue tree snap shotting is annoying.
Looking forward to funnel /prio damage gameplay with deathstalker in M+ / Add cleave boss fights.

Ambush already does proc it, what should be changed is no longer requiring rupture to be up for it to proc.

While garrote makes the most sense, are we not going to be taking subterfuge for stealth after 3 seconds to be able to do a ambush>garrote>rupture?
I haven’t played rogue much or retail recently and the deathstalker tree is about the only hero talents I’m aware of.

Why does your idea need to come at the expense of Sudden Demise? Just add in your idea. There is no need to replace SD. Some of us like it.
If Deathstalker allowed marks via Garrote, would you even really press Ambush as sin very often? Plus we got 6 seconds of subterfuge now. I don’t see anything wrong with Ambush being the sole way of applying the mark before refreshing. Garrote carries enough weight as is, and it’s a good thing to split up some of that rather than dump 90% of our specs ability to do anything into just Garrote.

100% this , please add garrote to applying marks. Makes no sense for assasination to be ambushing as our opener , especially in M+

Ask yourself, in a pack when you need to garrote multiple enemies to spread bleed, what would happen? We can only have one mark at a time. You’d just be moving it around and not even progressing the cycling.
Yeah almost like the core mechanic of the entire Deathstalker hero talent tree is actually awful once applied to anything other than a raid boss.
The easiest fix to deathstalker’s mark is to make it proc off all single target builder’s period. That fixes it for target swapping, for pvp, solo etc. Assassination has enough extra ramp up things for every new target it doesn’t doesn’t need another much less one designed this poorly.

And how exactly do you imagine that would work?
3 mobs. It works on “any builder period” You go to attack them. Now you just move the mark around when you use a builder?
Mark has to be on something used INFREQUENTLY or something with a conditional like “from stealth” or both. Having it on something used often breaks the entire function of designating the prio target.
So it wouldn’t work if the mark moved around, but to you it does work doing nothing on 1 target while you attack other things got it.
I mean if it worked on everything you’d get clear the witnesses on every rupture you put up vs now it just does nothing at all.
The mark target still priority target as you have to use up all 3 charges for the spec to work. This doesn’t take that away it just takes away the handicap in changing target’s.
This spec being handicapped on target switching only works if they keep the massive dmg it does we saw how long that kind of thing lasted with the 10.2 changes. Once the dmg gets gutted and it will at some point the spec will just be a normal spec with terrible swapping.

I get what you mean, but the issue isn’t ambush applying the mark in that case. It’s more a problem that you have to spend 5 CPs on the marked target, no?
Seems like the problem is more that the whole thing is a debuff instead of self buff. When it comes to the mark mechanic I personally don’t know why we can’t just have Marked for Death be the marker and have it entirely off GCD with no CD and have it be a self buff. Might not be the best or most smooth, but at least it would work better than this.
Whispyr speaks about Sudden Demise and its value, it’s not really a buff as much as it is damage recovery. Often times assa would miss out on crucial damage due to targets dying with active bleeds. This talent combats this to a degree
