Beta Build 35978 Sep 23 nerfs + Kala vid covering it

tldr

  • The Decimating Bolt rework we had already been told was gonna happen
  • Impending Catastrophe nerfed from 261% to 210% SP :frowning: net 20% nerf
  • Scouring Tithe nerf, 20% on both the DoT and instant damage too
  • Soul Rot buff (they’re really not understanding that this isn’t like, the primary problem of Soul Rot lol)

Hopefully we’ll see changes in response to the roundtable(highly recommend everyone watch) in next week’s build.

Also they could make Soul Rot one shot bosses - still not going Night Fae haha

Watching the Aff gameplay part was depressing. All that management for 3k dps, oof. Also wish the base dots just did more damage.

How are these making warlocks look in terms of dps compared to other classes?

Good ol Blizzard balance nerf the current covenants to make the other look appealing. “Oh you don’t like night fae well we’ll just keep nerfing the others till you do” lol

They could create new synergy but nope

I’m hoping so badly that anything but Kyrian sims the highest. Kyrian’s ability to so ridiculously boring and unsatisfying to use, plus a transmog that doesn’t fit Warlocks what so ever, I couldn’t think of a more horror scenario than the one provided to us today.

Warlock’s DPS is still completely fine and better than many other casters/ranged DPS, but we, the actual players, are not. I can’t think of a single human being that wanted to go Kyrian as a Warlock. It doesn’t fit the aesthetic and has the most boring ability out of the 4.

Blizzard, please buff Necrolord/Venthyr/Night Fae so much to where Kyrian isn’t even viable, please. Your company is really good at breaking crap and making it unplayable so I imagine this won’t be a difficult task for you.

Does dark glare refresh impending catastrophe, Soul Rot, etc???

Analyzing dps among classes when we’re nowhere near the end of tuning and we have no idea what the nathria trinkets are in majority (only half are implemented) is not useful.

You’re basically trying to do fortune telling atm

Just be patient

As always lol

Dark angel sorta fits

I’m going vampire anyway tbh

Impending catastrophe yes, scouring tithe yes, soul rot I forgot but I think so

Thank you, I saw Kalamazi vid. he Likes scouring Tithe, but Im thinking Venthyr right now will be best balance for PVE and PVP. Scouring doesnt seem very viable to me in PVP. Unless im mistaken. Would love some feedback guys. Thanks

I mean that largely depends on your playstyle no?

But given IC smart-curses now and still hits like a truck for AOE, I’d wager vampire is the best bet for PVP, but it does have a relatively long cast time.

With the way stuff is set up rn, and admitting I’m Casual™, I’m probably gonna be Vampire with Demo Dog Build in PVE and Destro Rain of Chaos Build in PVP

Yeah Vamp looks to be able to apply to all forms of content for demo, the second they added smart curse I was cool with it.

Still hoping we get a more reliable interrupt and maybe some less cast times on SOME of our cds (since they are hell bent on our spec needing to cast most of our spells), tyrant/nether maybe vile fiend.

Kyrian looks fine for pvp, for affliction with dispel protection anyway. The potion is good too.

Venthyr looks like the strongest, mostly because of the -25% duration on silence/lockout soulbind.

Does Kyrian potion share a cooldown with Alchemy pots, and any other?

Kala with the quick turnaround on the A+ content. Interested to see how this Decimating/Demonbolt thing shakes out.

God Covenants are a mess. I hadn’t even thought about the conduit/renown level unlocking stuff. A little too try-hard for me, but another minor anxiety to add to the giant pile of them.

What in Venthyr gives -25% duration on silence/lockout soulbind? as far as i know you get the Teleport and Impending Catastrophe? Please let me know if im missing something. thank you!

One of the venthyr soulbinds (Nadjia) has a passive you can choose that lowers the incoming duration of interrupts/snares/roots by 25%. It will probably be important for affliction pvp, seeing as it’s still completely shadow school.

And blizz has said health pots, healthstones, and kyrian potion should all be different CDs.

That requires forethought and planning. Oh, and work.

It didn’t extend Impending Catastrophe originally, but it does now.

This, so much. My DK doesnt have to do 1/2 of this upkeep. MR doing over 30% of our damage is stupid. 30% on one ability. Just flat out stupid.
