Beta Access Waves

Yes I am jealous that I don’t have access to the beta. I understand that you guys want all of the advertising you can get, but as a player who clocked countless hours into retail vanilla WoW, I feel like I should have received an invite.

I know every quest up to level 30ish by heart and remember when mages arcane explosion had a cast time. And with all of the streamers acting like they are better than everyone because they got into the beta, saying stuff like “Blizzard is super strict with who they allow in the beta,” I feel like I should qualify as someone who would be able to test for bugs.

I personally remember vanilla like it was yesterday and can think of many bugs in the demo that I want to make sure are set properly, while it feels like everyone just wants to speed level and pretend that they are better than everyone because they have access when others do not.

So far i have encountered a few bugs just watching people stream, and instead of take the time to report them, they would rather brush it off as something that’s probably not a bug so they can focus on leveling…Not trying to sound too butthurt here but it really does feel like a shot in the foot as somebody who locked in so many hours in vanilla and used to watch my parents raid all the way through Naxx, and I just want the opportunity to bug test the game that I love and have been looking forward to playing long before Blizzard went back on their “wall of nope” post that they lived by for so many years.

Streaming was never a big part of WoW until twitch became popular around Cata or so, and I feel like this first wave of Beta testers is really only to raise popularity and hype of classic launch. Which is fine, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t think that they should all take priority over everyone else that played classic wow just because they happened to make different life choices than us other players, especially because the streamers are more focused on their own content than actually bug testing, which is what a beta should be about in my opinion.

I am beyond excited for vanilla wow, but I think its a bit of an irl clickbait when you guys say you are listening to the community, when I think you are listening to your revenue. We have asked for wow classic for years and you guys only finally decided to announce it after your twitch views tanked hard, and so you claim you are catering to the community by talking to streamers who have voiced their opinions as well, but it really feels like you are just grabbing at money and views, because we have all been saying these things for a long time, we just didn’t have the viewers and probably weren’t making you guys enough money. Nothing wrong with gaining publicity, you deserve it when you do good stuff, but when you say you are trying to get closer to the community, it feels like its just because you need the money because there are countless people who were top tier vanilla players that did not get access who are some of the few people who should be allowed to test, because they actually know how stuff is supposed to work and it feels like you guys prioritize your twitch views over letting players who were hardcore players in classic have a chance to do bug testing.

I hope you guys decide to let more OG classic players in to test some things, because a community is made up of hundreds of thousands of people, and twitch streamers are only select people from the community, and just because they make you money and are popular entertainers, doesn’t mean that they are the ideal people for bug testing a beta, and I don’t think that they should have received invites exclusively over so many other players that were also very involved in retail vanilla.

Rant over, hope I didn’t offend anybody I just wanted to vent myself. Im excited for the next wave of beta invites and I hope I get a chance to make sure that shamans can’t equip two handers without the talent point (was a big problem in the demo lol).

Edit: For all of you complaining about spacing I “pressed the enter key”, hope you are proud of me. (I agree it was hard to read but like you guys are ridiculous lol)
PS: This was strictly a rage thread I put no thought into paragraph structure and haven’t been to school in years and have no regrets!

Since this is your first post on the forum, I thought I’d let you know that you can use separate paragraphs.

Instead of complaining, I’d suggest finishing your English class at school. Pay close attention to sentence and paragraph structuring.
