Hey guys! So, I was basically wondering what the best way is to learn routes when doing M10+ dungeons. I’m hoping to focus on taning soon and, well, the obelisk stuff makes me pretty nervous.
Any advice would be appreciated - thanks!

Thank you for choosing to tank, we need more of them this xpac! I don’t know all the routes yet on my tank, but if you google “bfa weekly route” you should see a link to raider io. You can find the dungeon you need a route for, and import it into the addon Method Dungeon Tools. It’s essentially a map you can place markers on and use to count mobs in the dungeon. It’s very useful for learning individual NPC abilities as well. It’s not flawless, but it definitely helps develop an idea of where you need go for your route. I use it to study the layout before I commit to a key. I wish I didn’t have to, but the dungeons in BFA are whack and require third party sources to navigate “properly” (depends on who you ask) as a tank. I didn’t have to download the addon until I made my Blood DK.
Method dungeon tools is also useful to reference in game. You just get the updated pathing for that week’s affixes and go.
Dratnos (US top 50 raider, MDI caster, etc) publishes a weekly route on raider io’s website that you can utilize via Method Dungeon Tools.
This week. You get a general idea of how the routing works this season through his route posts.
Def use the templates by Dratnos to get started, just remember that group comp does play a role in the pulling. Being a prot paladin allows you to pull some things that would be harder for other tanks. Having something like a fire mage or shadow priest in group changes the pacing and I’d strongly recommend the WeakAuras for mob count on nameplates and “Pull Percent” to keep track as you go.
+1 on using the Method Dungeon Tools addon; it’s basically just a dungeon map addon which lets you plan ahead for pulls, and it shows you the % each pull is worth
