I’m working on my achievements, and would like to move around faster but I only have two pieces of gear with +speed on them not including gems. Any help would be appreciated.
Whenever I look up somebody who talks about their “speed set” it’s usually just…a mixture of stuff that they just happened to roll speed on. I imagine the amount of time you’d spend making such a set outweighs how much you’d save by using it.
Oh ok. That makes sense. Thanks.
how many gnomes have you sacrificed to RNGesus?
I do have a speed set, but it’s plain luck in acquiring it. Just save any loot you get with +speed. Also being in a guild and having them pass off pieces that have that stat helps
Check each piece when you open your vault for speed
Then check each piece of gear you get from old raids for speed
The only reasonable way of farming a speed set is doing it passively, while working on other stuff, and eventually just kind of having a bunch of pieces with speed to make your runs slightly quicker
I recall seeing how in SL/BFA, they nerfed the vast majority of legacy speed gear. You used to be able to run at like 220% or something. But now it’s rather minor 15-20% at best.
Could be wrong though. But I am sure there are sets online that point out all the pieces you can get .
They wanted people to drag themselves slowly through old content. In BfA I always prioritized the azerite gear with speed procs on it. It seemed useful. One day I was running a Legion dungeon with a friend and he couldn’t keep up. His speed was 105 and mine was 120. The next day I logged into another character and noticed how peppy she was. 142. 121 now.
Do mission tables for gear, plus world quests. The +Speed is based on ilvl. I am ~146 in shadowlands and ~156 in old world (due to azerite longstrider).
Wowhead has a decent guide on getting started .(https://www.wowhead.com/guide=12191/how-to-create-a-shadowlands-speed-gear-set)
If you can wear leather, Tarvus’ Poison -Scarred boots are a ilvl 50 drop and have a socket so you can do minor speed + a speed gem which gives a pretty massive boost (~13%).
I built a speed set using najatar tokens at the time I got it to over 80% using the speed gems.
Here’s the speed script I use to create a macro and then place that on my click bar to see my real speed since there are no in game ways I know of that are accurate.
/script base = BASE_MOVEMENT_SPEED
/script cur, run, fly, swim = GetUnitSpeed(“player”)
/script ChatFrame1:AddMessage(string.format(“Your current maximal speeds are: running %g%%, flying %g%%, swimming %g%%.”, run/base100, fly/base100, swim/base*100))
most speed sets are for Druids who can haul their derrieres faster than everyone else inside of instances.
The best way to get +speed is to do anything and everything you can stand that drops gear.
World quests and mission tables can be a good source of consistent gear rewards.
Rares are another option, but you’d need to look up which ones drop gear your class uses.
Potentially any unfinished quests with rewards as well.
If you run dungeons or M+ or LFR any of those drops can roll speed as well
Don’t forget about Azerite gear bonuses.
Cloak enchant with speed is another easy boost.
Any SL gear with speed will work fine for legacy content, so just maximize your chances at rolling speed.
Thanks for all the help, everybody. I got what I needed out of this
more than i can legally talk about on a public forum-
2 years later to say that?
The second speed movie wasn’t very good I would just buy the first
