Advice on how to get higher heals per second?
Make sure the people are taking a ton of damage so you can heal more

Do you have context? Is there a specific mech you need help with? Are your heals low overall for the content you’re doing? Are heal checks hitting too hard? Raids, M+? PvP?
You are casting flash heal too much, you are also not running lightweaver so you can unbind heal entirely. You can use an enchant on your legs, feet, and one of your rings. You should also cast prayer of mending much more, drop this on either tank on cooldown if you can. It is a great heal that does very little overhealing. You also didn’t cast power infusion which is a big cooldown for you, and make sure to use salvation much earlier in the fight so you can get two of them, looking at this log for example:
https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/WP7TvZb2HyCXA3pf#fight=14&type=healing&source=40&ability=265202
Healing about half as people are doing in heroics…
I hat do you mean light weaver ?
You can use heal if you are running out of mana, but without this talent most hpriests will just unbind the heal spell because it is not very good for your hps. I also noticed on this log that flash heal is being overused a bit:
https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/VrtY8Mzp9PZmfhCF#fight=4&type=casts&source=60
Compare to the casts of a top hpriest log:
https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/LpARnhXmzc3b7kFq#fight=12&type=casts&source=72
Make sure to be using all your cooldowns in general. Guardian Spirit, power infusion, divine hymn, desperate prayer (personal defensive cd that also adds hps), salvation, then symbol of hope and shadowfiend for mana regen.
That other dude really broke it all down in a lot of detail.
I will also just add that youll eventually just do more healing as you learn everything he broke down.
When i was learning how to preservation evoker heal i was doing such healing. Started playing around with spells and spell usage etc. Then got to about 2500 io on it. It was an alt so i didnt push season 1.
Healing is very much the only spec where its trial by fire. Oh we died to tjis mechanic so need to pump harder here etc.
Trial by fire my dude. Youll pick it up. Dont beat yourself up strictly because of this rule
Honestly this so much. There’s plenty of unavoidable damage between the trash and bosses, knowing which mob they come from, or when in the boss fight they happen you can began to set yourself up in preperation for it.
I forget which priest healer doesn’t have an interrupt, I think one does… I don’t play priest healer, but knowing what casts you don’t want going off is also important. I can think of a couple instances in Rise alone where I’m focused on a mob (I play Mistweaver so I’m able to do a lot of healing through DPS) where I want to make sure a specific cast is interrupted or something is CC’d and I don’t trust the DPS to do it for me. For priests, I think you kind of have to rely on your team more for that, but knowing what kind of damage is coming if a certain cast does go off is also important.
To you example in Rise its “something volley” but it is still able to be healed through at lower key levels.
So when i say “trial by fire” its exactly what you said knowing where the dmg is coming from and either getting/being ready for it. You just have to learn where the higher dmg comes from.
Another example in Rise is the dragon pulls where they just pulse high AOE dmg and you just have to learn that
Yes there’s avoidable dmg but there’s a lot of things that aren’t and dudes just takes dmg.
EB those big dudes that smack the ground(csnt think of there name) they hurt and they put a dot on you.
What you said is no different mine is just more extreme
Corroding Volley, yup, at lower keys it’s just an annoyance due to the slow debuff. At higher keys, it’s still manageable, but I rather just not heal that, especially when there’s 2 or 3 magi, if I can at least stop 1 or 2 of them, it’s much more manageable than having them go off in near succession.
Infinite Burn in the sand area can be nasty, especially if you have that mob that casts Bloom on 2 people, I would rather dispel Bloom on one of those people, and keep an eye on the other Bloom until my dispel is back up, I don’t need Infinite Burn in there too. Unless it’s on me so I can just use Diffuse Magic, pretty sure that debuff goes back on the mob.
Anything to make it easier for me to handle what I can’t prevent.
I was going to say “press more buttons faster”, but this is such an elegant answer.
the real question you should be asking is did your group die
You’re a Priest…if a player is standing away from the fire then Life Grip them into the fire and heal them up. You have nothing to heal if your team isn’t taking damage.
You should also remove Psychic Scream from your bars…you don’t want to accidentally interrupt a pack and prevent all that damage that you would have otherwise been able to heal up.
Bind all your heals to all your keyboard keys then roll your face across the keyboard like a madlad/lass
Have your group take more damage.
.
It may sound stupid, but healing isnt dps. You cant heal damage that doesnt exist. If you are looking at the healing meters and struggling to be on top…you are doing it wrong.
