Best way to farm Mounts in Island Expeditions?

Good grief I’ve been at this for two weeks now. I’ve tried warmode on. I’ve tried mythic. I’ve done normal and heroic. I’ve targeted rares and chests only, and I’ve sped through them gathering as much azerite as quickly as possible.

So far no Island Thunderscale, no mounts at all. What’s the best way of doing these?

Is it just going with heroic knowing you can clear them faster thus having more chances or just continue on with mythics?

stock up on rabbit charms

multi box 3 accounts

do mythic

afk on 2 of them and rabbit charm the one you’re controlling, as a druid should be able to clear a mythic island with rabbit charm in aboutttttttttttt 5-6 minutes

a few on wowhead doing this method received most to all of the mounts in about 10,000 islands

I don’t have money for that Lol, but yes I’ve read about folks doing that. I will totally buy a rabbit charm if I ever see the vendors actually selling it!

they were up like 2 weeks ago so it’ll prob be another month before they’re up

when they come up just buy like 200-500

i’d say if 3 rolls /10,000 islands was the average
with 1 character you should get a mount every 5,000 islands done

of course rng is rng but if you do 10,000 it would be insanely lucky if you didnt pick up a couple

just do heroics

RNG. No best way, just doing it constantly on the highest difficulty I’d imagine would give you the best chance.

Warmode as far as I know gives no benefit to instanced content, I may be wrong. And they’ve changed it so that it doesn’t really matter who you kill, but I guess it wouldn’t hurt. Though they did mention you didn’t necessarily have to target specific mobs anymore.

It’s really just a roll of the dice so to speak with a very very low or ‘‘random’’ %.

Wait until 9.0, level to 130, farm them yourself in 2 minutes.

The only thing I would recommend is to do it on mythic. It seems like you get “more” stuff. i din’t know if you actually get more chances at mounts and such, but you do get more dubloons.

They’re not exactly a loved part of BfA… I’d be very surprised if Blizzard tried to make them relevant in the next expansion.

They have confirmed that there is a higher chance for all types of drops on mythic, but we don’t know exactly how much higher.

Yeah it ends up being a question of is it worth it do do more islands faster, at a lower level, or doing less islands slower because the chance is higher. Not sure if it evens out or not

Yeah, unless you have a dedicated group that you can trust to be efficient, it’s probably better to stick to heroic. But I still think it’s way more wise to just wait until next expansion :slight_smile:

We don’t, but it’s more clearer that it won’t just by how Legion worked. Scaling stopped at cap for that specific expansion. It’s just how the system works atm.

I read that and it depressed me. I farmed all the Zandalari Warbringers, garrison invasion and paragon mounts. They were by far the worst grind out of the 466 mounts I own.

However, after reading that post I think the IE mounts will be the worst. I wish Blizzard would stop doing that.

I was really worried they were going to add even more mounts with the 2 new islands coming in 8.2… so far it doesn’t look like it, let’s hope they decide that enough is enough.

I been farming underrot mount in pugs for the whole week. I am going to go insane.

the warbringers weren’t so bad

i used to solo them during the Throne of thunder patch? maybe it was early siege patch but i dont think so, on my enhancement shaman
in a night usually i’d be able to do like 4-5 full rotations and i think i got all of them passively since i was doing it for rep/gold over the course of a month

and for the paragon mounts i’m missing the carpet and moose, but got the valarjar/val’sharah/both argus ones passively just doing wqs on one character
(funny though i got both felcrushers from the argus paragon in the same box on my first box)

neither of those were really AWFUL islands mounts imo should be a little higher, i think at this point i have 2? maybe 1 just from capping on 1 or 2 characters a week nothing more but it feels nice feeling like there’s a reason to keep doing islands

if i could get all of them in like 1000 islands i think it would be a pretty huge bummer

spamming m+? p sure you’re loot locked after the first mythic even for the mount
