Is the scepter of sargeras the most powerful now? Is it worth the time to get the dragonwrath staff?
As far as our staff :
the imp does nice ranged attacks
the Voidwalker keeps some things away…
the succubus keeps things… occupied…
the felpuppy shuts people up.
The mage tower afflic scythe. Don’t remember the name.
The most handsome staff has to be Gul’dans replica staff from the Warcraft movie in-game reward.
Spire of Scarlet Pain for Destro Warlocks or Fire Mages.
The staff is on fire. Literally.
This is the only answer.
I really like the the destruction artifact’s hidden appearance “The Burning Jewel of Sargaras.”
You can get it randomly from the “Ritual of Doom” activity in the Warlock Order hall
You can transmog it over any staff as a warlock and, if you’re playing destruction, you can also transmog it over swords and daggers. I’m not sure, but I think you can finally transmog it over wands as well now.
(While I concede that the Affliction magetower appearance is the absolute best, I wanted to suggest an alternative that’s still obtainable.)
Don’t forget the soon to be incubus. Swinging his staff around.
Dragonwrath is supposed to be one of the best caster dps staves for timewalking so I want it on my characters that can get it for that reason, but like all pre-Shadowlands gear it isn’t used at endgame anymore
It hasn’t been good for timewalking in forever. The proc rate last I had for several runs was 0.1%.
And your last point that has been the case for over a decade for all gear. So you’re wrong.
Depends on your race and transmog which is best.
The timewalking discord spreadsheet still lists it as one of the best staves. Even if the proc rate were 0, it would still clearly be the best for BC and WotLK timewalking because there are only a few staves with three gem sockets and that is one of them, plus it has a better socket bonus than the others
Judging from the way the OP phrased his question and the fact that he has very few achievement points, he’s probably a returning player who doesn’t know that all the old stuff is obsolete, so I’m not wrong, actually
Riddle me this, if they are that new (or ancient of a returning player) then how do they know about such items to supposedly chase after?
Reroll disc priest and the get the mage tower staff…oh wait you can’t have it /flex
I’m unsure of what you’re looking for as the best
but I do know that, as this is a Warlock staff thread, everyone should follow Kralnors rules.
1. post message in the room
2. LOOK IT OVER
3. dont report anything, i might get in trouble
and 4. Have fun!!!
If they quit during or slightly after Firelands (like I did, although I came back in WoD), then they’d know about Dragonwrath. The other weapon he mentioned is his artifact weapon.
Some new or returning players from a long time ago probably don’t realize that a higher item level staff is almost always better, even if the lower item level staff is a legendary or artifact weapon and the higher item level staff is a green quality world drop.
Level 36 is also only slightly higher than the level you’d be if you were returning to a character from Cata. All of my characters from back then that I haven’t continued playing are level 32 or level 33.
If you’re a warlock, your staff is a good one.
And if you know, you know.
Best staff? A good personal assistant along with a lawyer that understands accidental face melting lawsuits, as well as a publicist. Preferable one that worked for satan.
Maybe toss in a demon wrangler.
