Best warlock spec for DPS?

Best warlock spec for dps in battle for azeroth? Gonna start leveling to 120 but am unsure on what to choose.
Affliction single target

Destro aoe/cleave.
For leveling.. Warmode demo hands down...

For non warmode.. all are fine but I found demo is easier for multi pack pulling... but if your sniping single or light cleaving packs Destro will be faster.. and Affliction is in between.

In the end I would just jump between them to get a feel for how the play and then stick to the one that feels better.. the issue with asking that questions is your going to get 1000 different answers based on what people prefer to play vs what you like to play. SO I would spend time leveling with each one and see how they feel.. its not like you have to worry about new skills and azurite armor can be respeced for cheap at that level if you want to try out the different armor talents or you can go with the jack of all trade talents in the armor and just swap around till you fine what you like.
I just stuck with affliction and had no problems. Packs of low life adds in dungeons will die too quickly for your dots to do any decent AOE damage. But affliction has the best single target damage.
I just hit 120 two nights ago, this was a 110 boost five days ago and my first Warlock in 14 years to ever get past level 50 (to be fair, I cheated!)

That being said, I tried all three specs, and ended up doing Demo in War Mode about 90% of the time. Demo definitely has a lot of "flavor" so it is a lot of fun.

I switched to Destro now though and am starting to try and learn it, really enjoying it so far at 120 doing WQs and wrapping up any Quest hubs I missed.

/signed,

former Shadow Priest (at least until/if they fix it)
I still feel like I don't do enough damage as demo in wpvp. Affliction, you get 1 good deathbolt off you pretty much win any 1v1 aside from maybe a warrior or ww monk.

Affy does more damage imo but I haven't tried a straight mastery build for demo yet either which might be better since dreadstalkers are a lot of your damage and are instant cast.
I strongly suggest you to play wich spec you like more (warlock has burst-dot-pets), because u'll be bored to the class fast and maybe the game if you play something not of your taste.

That's what I did. It's fun to try them all out since they are all very viable. In the end I found affliction the most fitting for my play style.
Bane of Havoc cannot be beat for leveling. That and conflag snare is unreal. Round up a pack of 20, shadowfury, cata, drop Bane of Havoc, conflag snare, cb, conflag snare, cb

Usually dead but then cdf if you have to.
Affliction, it’s weak with aoe so the Spec will struggle with trash dps. That will change once m+ comes out and mobs have more health, therefore, they last longer and we have more time to ramp up.
Another 2 years of affliction.

Sounds fun.
I’m assuming affliction will be best for the raid, but even stacking mastery for affliction I do more dps as Destro in mythic because the fights are so short.

I would say Destro outside of Mythic+ or Uldir

Well said
I use "Ask Mr. Robot" for optimizing my stats to my talent point build. I have a paid subscription, but I think there is number of free tries you can use if you sign up/register. It works really good, I like it.

As for what to choose, you play what and how you want. That is all I do. Do yourself a favor, do not start chasing the DPS train. Find a class and a specialization the compliments your personality.
All of them. There will always be fights or circumstances where one spec is better than the others, but they’re all competitive.

Affliction overall, but Destro and demo felt quicker than Affliction against the standard mobs in the open world. Demo has AoE built in to one of its core rotational abilities and the Felguard, so Demo feels like the smoothest leveling option in my opinion.

Affliction has the highest sustained and burst damage (lol @ the latter), but its burst damage is limited to the Deathbolt and Darkglare combo, so you can't use it much in the open world.
Huge fan of Demo here. I have played a lock since vanilla. (Warning: an opinion is coming.) Demo to me has always felt like what a warlock is supposed to be about. I have played all three specs prominently at different times in different xpacs though.

The ramp up for Demo takes patience, and proper execution. Due to the unforgiving nature of the rotation, it can see why people have a skewed view of the spec's potential, have trouble excelling at it, or just give up before they truly learn it.

I hope it doesn't change though. Or at least, i hope they don't mess with the rotation to make it easier. I am actually happy with the play-style right now.

Maybe its because I haven't spent enough time with it but could you clarify for me what is the difficult part of the rotation? Because with the little time I have spent with warlock so far it feels like the most forgiving and easy rotation of all three specs by a good amount. It doesn't feel like there are any moments where I have to question which ability to use next. Everything just flows into itself and is used on cooldown.
I always level as Demo. Not having a felguard just feels bad while leveling as it feels like the voidwalker just dies faster. Soloing in the world I generally roll as Demo as well. For raiding and group stuff, I swap over to affliction because I've always liked the playstyle. I actually started leveling in Vanilla as affliction and had a good time with it so I think that's why it stuck.
