Is affliction a good spec for pve and possibly pvp at 60?
SM/ruin or DS/ruin are the go to with ds generally winning. Debuff limits mean you won’t be multidotting 40 man content.
It would be an awesome raiding spec if you could raid as affliction. However bosses can only have 16 debuffs so all your dots are very bad for raid performance.
Most warlocks go into the demonology try for demonic sacrifice, then into the destruction tree for improved shadow bolt and ruin. Sacrifice your succubus and just spam shadowbolt. It’s referred to as the DS/Ruin spec.
SM/Ruin is deep affliction, you will just never get most of your damage from dots. Its good if your raid wants the imp buff, or if you want to never have to respec to do everything.
Thx for the info. I currently have a lvl 28 lock and i love affliction. Is there any spec (end-game) that would go well with both raiding and pvp? Another question: what is the best pvp spec for lock?
All viable specs are a mix of affliction and destruction.
Do whatever you want as long as you have ruin in destruction and 2 pts in improved life tap in Affliction and some form of max bonus damage to at least shadow spells.
That will probably be sm/ruin. Although you could do fine in pvp as ds/ruin. Both specs are good in raiding and farming as well
Which spec has summon, banish and curse of tongues? Ok that one bc there’s lock gear that keeps dropping and we need to give it to someone?
