Like the title says, what’s the best Warlock PvE spec? Primarily with a focus on raiding.
You can go DS/ruin. Does most damage
Sm/ruin does a little less damage but both are viable

It depends on what your doing. Most of the warlock specs are good and viable. That is one of the best things about warlocks. THe problem comes when you want to raid.
at this junction of our classic gameplay the dot limit was still in affect. Any kind of debuff that can go on a boss counts to this limit and as such, Warlocks take up a HUGE chunk of that limit. So in endgame push progression dot heavy locks are not that welcome. Because there are other dots that NEED to go on the boss. So a split happens you want some warlock dots but you dont want all your warlocks plopping down their dot missiles.
So a good spread of more destruction gear locks are need just as much as some affliction dots are needed.
If you are leveling and doing things like 5 man content or pvp. Affliction hands down is the tops. You can just MELT people like a light saber through anakin. PLus fear lock people…
When I played my lock I went with affliction mostly
The correct answer is ‘whatever you enjoy playing the most’.
Loud people will say there are ideal specs. But part of the fun of Vanilla was that you had the freedom to experiment and find new ways to attack problems.
For instance, I tanked every instance and MC (off-tank) as a fury warrior with a 2H weapon. It was different. But we found a group that made it work.
