Best version of WOW for casuals

Whats the best version of WOW if you have 30 minutes of playtime per day?

-Anniversary
-SOD
-Retail
-Cata classic

What version casuals out there are playing?

Retail would be the best. You can actually get end game gear with minimal time investment through delves plus you can get characters up to max level super fast.

Not to mention, retail has a bunch of quick events you can participate in, so you have a lot of open world activities to fill your 30 minutes

I’d think retail would be best, due to having skyriding mounts for mobility and generally an easier time to gear up to at least world quest level, letting you feel like you can still make some progress by chipping away a bit at a time.

retail. you can run a couple of heroic dungeons or a couple of delves in 30 minutes. and if your gear is high enough, lfr. world quests.

but I think wow is hard to play with less than an hour. but maybe that’s just me

you can “play” any of the other content, but you won’t make much progress

Retail, although I guess the better question is what do you want to do in WoW?

30 minutes isn’t a lot to do, well, a lot of things. That just goes to RPG games in general.

Personally, I’d look for maybe a shorter experience if you’re in such a limited timeframe, like roguelites or something?

30 minutes? Quit MMO’s altogether. Get a cozy chill game or something.

About all you can do in 30 minutes with this game is a bunch of world quests. Each Delve is 7-15 minutes depending on your class and ilvl. Everything you do will feel like an anxiety attack with the time limit.

Retail by far. Classic and sod both require alot of play time to even get max lvl.

You might wanna leave classics out cuz its the biggest min max versions out there

Retail is 10x better expreience for new players. easier UI to learn/spells/spec… get to know the game overall…

Classic+ will be too complicated for them, it’s easy for us because we know what’s going on. we played it.

Dungeon modifiers is the classic+

Retail. You have the ability to level pretty fast and once at 60, you can basically one shot everything to gain rep for mounts and toys and pets.

My opinion, others may not agree.

I lived through classic, so I don’t find that as fun.

Retail would be the best by far due to delves. If you’re efficient, you could get geared to a mid-mythic raid level (and unlock the mythic transmog) by the end of the season with that amount of playtime.

Cata classic has a good casual community just join a decent realm like mankirk(horde) or pagle(alli) find a guild and you will have a lot of fun playing classes in a slower paced retailesque experience

Not Classic. Classic requires a heavier time investment to reap rewards. That didn’t change until probably Legion.

Retail would be your huckleberry for a half hour, but even with retail, that’s not enough time to do more than fly around and look at stuff or do a handful of quests.

With an hour per day, you’d get better bang for your buck. If you only have a half-hour, I’d say you need a different game.

If you only have 30 minutes per day to play a Video Game then you shouldn’t be thinking about playing ANY version of WoW.

full stop.

find a mobile game to play.

to be honest, if you life is SO BUSY that you can only spare 30 minutes per day for a video game, then you should probably just find another hobby and leave video games alone entirely.

Well, OP, it depends on what sort of goals you have in the game. If you want progress in end game, WoW isn’t a game where you can do that in a few very short play sessions. If you just want to putter around and mind your own business, you didn’t need to buy TWW to do old content.

Classic is the best. Because you can experience what it was really like! You can party like it’s 2005 again! Thanks Blizzard for Classic Era!!

I’ve got friends who only have about a half hour a day and play this game. :dracthyr_shrug:

Also: Palia is cozy and chill— it’s also an MMO.

Both Anniversary and SOD have the vanilla problem of it takes you 30 minutes into your play session just to get where you are going to start playing.

Travel time, alone, will take up all of your play-time if all you have is 30 minutes a day.

Retail has my vote. Lots of meaningful activities in retail only take 15ish minutes to accomplish.
