Best Vanilla PvP players per class

Hey classic brothers, who are some of the best vanilla pvp players that you recall? I like to consider the memorable brands of characters and players as I plan my classic main-- its interesting to hear what different people recall. Off the top of my head I think of (in no particular order):

Warrior – Maydie, Swifty, Laintime, Hulksmash, Iaz, Killjoy (lmao)

Rogue – Kish/Mute, Grim, Niar, Stgeorge, Nuc

Hunter – Ranger, Invasion, Riflelovin,

Paladin – Archeon, Zalgradis, Grievous, Heero, Mobywan, Dernos, Chipman, Jamaz

Shaman – Grauth, Unbreakable, Ioneye, Creed

Priest – Takuu, Xantim, Docta, Zaz, Proximo

Mage – Albis, Vurtne, Badrasta, Otherguy, Unknown, Faxmonkey

Druid – Qizmo, Azgaz

Warlock – Drakedog, Goth

Who do you think of? Im sure I missed some big ones – either in skill or brand

I don’t know any of those names.

I new one that ruled them all. A lock named plaguerat he 1 vs 12 in front of me.
They always had bounties but none could claim.

He never streamed and spoke very little but he was the one that if an army came around the corner and didn’t come back it was him. That person made locks seem so op.

He held GM title for a long time and he had no life but wow.
If he comes back destruction will be in his wake. Only think few ppl new him I just kept running into him and asked him to help kill horde sometimes when they came in big groups. Sometimes he would show up. I didn’t have to lift a finger.

Grim was so much fun to watch. He made really good players look silly. Loved his videos, even though there were only 2, and the ending of the 2nd was sad due to the way he ended it.

Glad you said Maydie…I believe if he were still playing he’d be top war. I wonder what hes doing right now.

Much love for the Vurtne mention. Dude was one of the most innovative pvpers for his time and I encourage everyone to watch his movies on YT.

Videos were more for entertainment than anything else.

I’m pretty sure anyone could take their “greatest hits” and put them into a godly video.

Kinda like video highlights of college players come NFL draft time. They all look like super stars.

If you don’t recognize even one of those names from his list then you don’t know Vanilla PvP. I mean cmon who hasn’t seen World of Roguecraft?

Serious question.

Have you guys seriously never heard of swifty, grim, unbreakable, vurtne, and drakedog?

Just checking to see if you missed those.

First clip I find is him walking up to a mounted rogue, scatter shotting them, then backpedaling to aimed shot them. That’s gonna be a nope from me. Ranger is the best vanilla era hunter I’ve seen by a mile.

That’s honestly subjective, because I have no idea who those players are. I assume they are on your realm, so you assume they are the best? If so, good for them on being the best on your realm.

I take it you don’t/didn’t pay attention to pvp back in vanilla did you.

How can you when they didn’t have xrealm phasing, You see one side of a dice, that all of a sudden means, they are the best?

Okay I am just going to assume you didn’t play vanilla or pay attention to it at all so I will just play it safe here.

Back in vanilla there were forums where people would post their pvp videos. There was this site called warcraft movies where people would post their pvp. So pvpers would post these videos on that site and make a forums post on them so others could watch.

Some players got REALLY popular because they invited unique ways to play their class. Such as Swifty made TONS of movies on his warrior showing tips and tricks for duels and pvping with warriors. He popularized the use of questing items that really no one ever thought of like skull of impending doom breaking sheeps and reps and such. Or like world of rogue craft where the rogue would kill full tier2/3 geared players with nothing but a level 1 dagger and no gear.

And vurtne became popular as being a REALLY skilled mage destroying people in what little gear he had sometimes 1v4ing people.

It’s unfortunate that you base skill off of phasing. Classic is going to take your soul, BE.

Warlock;

There’s a lot of actual Vanilla guys I’d go with as well, but only Ranger and Albis made the list from back then. I’d probably put Laintime, Vurtne, and Grim up there too.
