I want to make a level 39 twink, but I’m uncertain which classes are generally the best at that level in classic given their skill trees & available twink gear. I was thinking about rolling a hunter.
Any input or advice is appreciated.

For flag carrying WSG, definitely druid (or for healing).
For DPS mayhem, hunter. You already have Aspect of Cheetah so you and druids move across the WSG map way faster than everyone else.

Hunter is a great choice. Traps and Pets are obnoxious in the battlegrounds.

Kind of what I was thinking.
Warlock can be pretty great. There’s a lot of good spellpower gear and shadow spellpower gear in that bracket.

Druid. You get the maximum amount of abilities and people don’t have their mount yet. Your travel form is pretty stupid in the 30-39 bracket.
…It is kinda stupid everywhere really but especially in that range. If you want to be a WSG hero though, go ahead.
Druids are notable especially whilst no one has mounts. You are guaranteed that first quick cap of AB and in WSG you are almost untouchable, remember Classic WoW didn’t have the same dampening effects on flag carriers.
Rogue is pretty good still, you get most of your key abilities such as Blind and Kidney during that bracket, meanwhile everyone is still using their base armour class. So no plate to deal with and Hunters/Shaman will still be wearing leather.

I remember having some sort of lvl 39 lock twink destro I think and it was pretty awesome back then. Can’t say which class was the best but it was really fun.
that bracket usually dies without crbgs. there isnt much incentive to keep queueing bgs while leveling, and it just dies after the initial wave of levelers
warrior with pocket heal.
solo - Hunter or shaman WF procs.
Ele Shaman with Staff of Jordan is the patrician choice.
I spent most of my WoW days playing twinks in 19, 29 and 39 brackets. My main was a 39 Tauren Druid flag carrier.
I’m biased, but I loved playing my druid. I prefer to provide utility in a battleground and fill the gaps between my team. I stacked stamina/intellect so that I could have as much health as possible and shapeshift to break slows/snares. The large mana pool helped me spot heal and root and overall help control the flow of battles. The downside is I did terrible DPS. But, that wasn’t what I was built to do. I was built to carry flags and CC.
If you want to heal, go priest. If you want to dps, go hunter, rogue or mage. If you want to provide utility, go druid. All depends on your play style.
Had a twinked out afliction lock at 39; was pretty nasty.
At lower brackets I would use a dagger and melee as an added insult. Was rather OP. If I remember correctly the dagger had a chance to inflict shadow damage, had a fire enchant, and the spellstone that procced fire damage.
This is what I personally enjoyed, whether or not it was the ‘best.’

Probably pretty much anything, as it is quite a large investment to think at 39. I loved my hunter and the bow of searing arrows is for level 39 exactly I believe.
I didn’t ever have issues in queues. I would usually be 30-0 for most games.
Either way, leveling a toon and then twinking it at 39/49 is not nearly as common as other brackets. My mage was a 49 twink.
Any class that can wear the most sub level 40 epics is a win in my book (: just play the one you enjoy the most and you’ll dumpster people…

I didn’t hard core twink but speccing nightfall,imp corruption + some of the destro talents for chunky shadowbolt crits was awesome fun especially after dotting up 4-5 people and running around spamming instant shadow bolts at people.
You died like a dog if anyone touched you but it was comical kiting someone hitting them with instant cast nukes.
There aren’t too many too be honest, based on what I looked at.
That said looks like you can get some decent combos. Warlocks for example can get a Staff of Jordan along with 2 x Underworld Bands which grants them a whole 54 increased shadow damage.
Hunters can get Bow of Searing and Gloves of Holy Might.
Mail users (Warrior/Pally) can get a chest and a 2H or 1H + Shield
