Blood DK, by far the easiest. Did all packs in shattered halls, never died once.
Demon Hunter, second easiest because heals can keep up.
Monk, 3rd easiest because monk, but no self heals.
Paladin, did mana-tombs and pulled pack to pack which made it easy
Warrior. Horrible. Did shattered halls and died so many times
Druid…not even gonna attempt.
Shattered Halls is horribly overtuned on damage, in my experience. No surprise Warrior would struggle compared to DK on that one.
Maybe by the second half of BfA timewalking will get a tuning pass.
In my experience:
best to worst so far this week because I can’t remember other times
-blood dk (haven’t had too many of these, but good experiences in the past)
-druid (maybe I’m lucky with druids idk so far they have been fine)
-DH (kinda spiky but doing alright)
-monk + pally (I don’t remember/didn’t have too many of these yet
-warrior (gag definitely the squishiest)
Everyone complains about the scaling, but for some reason I enjoy healing large amounts of unpredictable, devastating damage. I feel like I am the only one /shrug
- A tank that tanked the dungeons 1,000,000 times when they were current content and another 1,000,000 times since time walking was put in the game.
- Everyone else.
This.
I had a BDK in Arc who obvi didn’t know the dungeon or any of the mechanics. Judging by their hp they had good gear but died many times to big pulls.
Heals left and when the new heals asked what happened the tank blamed the dps
I sometimes get nostalgic with time walking and want dust off my old tanks to level and rip through content.
My teeth were cut warr tanking heroic mgt and sh when you had to stance dance to battle to t clap. Like walking to school in the snow.
Ive been leveling up a healer through TWing. My only bad experience has been with a blood dk.
Honestly it just comes down to a tank knowing their class + knowing the dungeons. I’ve had every class of tank once and had no issue.
The thing is, bc dungeons were designed with CC in mind, now that WoW is an aoe snorefest, noone CCs, so everything is 100x harder than when it originally came out.
You could CC the hallway in SH on a timed run?
MGT packs on a warr with cc took mad skill. Battle stance, charge, def, sb, tab/sunder repeat trying like hell to not hit a ccd mob.
I had a tank that didn’t know how to do LoS pulls in magister’s terrace, it was a long and painful run.
Some tanks are so used to facerolling, they forget you can’t exactly faceroll some of the TBC Timewalking dungeons, which makes timewalking dungeons now a painful process. But it isn’t always a tanks fault for when things do go wrong, sometimes you’ll have that trigger happy DPS that will pull the entire dungeon for the tank too.
I don’t know if there would be a best tank. Over time Blizzard seems to have them fairly even unless doing cutting edge stuff or very specific fights. I’d think it would boil down to how well the person playing the tank is doing.
