Been having trouble with this… I’ve tried felwood and tanaris, and only get maybe 1-2 nodes per run… for wotlk classic that is, not retail, ty
If classic Wrath is anything like real Wrath was back in the day, Tanaris was my best zone for mithril. For leveling either mining or blacksmithing, the hardest part was getting over the “mithril hump” due to how hard it was to find mithril. I tried all the other zones that were supposed to have it, and while in my experience Tanaris sucked, the others sucked even more.
When Cata launched and mithril became much more abundant with the zone changes, there came a point where I had to tell myself that I didn’t have to mine every mithril node I saw just because it was there.
Thorium was a breeze in comparison. Just run circles around the edge of Un’goro and you’ll have more thorium than you’ll know what to do with.
when you go to hillbread head into the mountains. where the ogers are theres alot of mithril on top of the mountains. also check the caves theres always something spawning in there.
as what Sig said Tarnaris on the bottom of the map from west to east make a big U shape. also theres mithril in the bug tunnels if you want to brave those places
I always found tons of Mith in Felwood but you know, its on stones and mountain sides behind trees. If you are new to mining you shouldnt be surprised that others may be mining that as well, so you could very well be right behind someone who is on the very flight path as yourself. You can always hideout nearby to see if this is true, or fly high (not good in Felwwod as the trees really obscure view of other players in the area.)
Tanaris has sparse amounts. I wouldn’t really go there specifically for mith. Thousand Needles is far superior to Tanaris itself, but keep that on the DL
