Hello new warlock here! just used my boost and am hype to get into this new class. I hear destroy is GOD in pvp but not so good in pve, so I ask. What is the best PvE spec for warlocks right now? thanks!
destro is fantastic in pve idk who’s trolling you, its only weakness is being kinda mediocre in m+ but that’s a class-wide issue
the only bad thing about destro in pve is that is boring as hell.

Destro is one of the best raiding. They are bad at m+ but warlocks as a whole are not great in m+. Better than aff at m+ at least
Questing I found affliction more fun you dot everything keep an eye on your void (that is stronger than in destro spec) and kill them all.
As destro you can see bigger numbers but dunno why the tank pet die faster and you can’t aoe pull how affliction can.
About raid i saw some affliction doing quite well.
PVP wise i tried a bit affliction but (for the gear I have) I don’t have enough burst dmg to take someone down and if I got ganked or pointed I am an easy kill.
As destro if I have time to cast chaos bolt I can put some pressure but you have no mobility and chaos bolt, that has, pretty long cast time could be silenced.
All of this come from a new lock tho!!!

destro on pure ST is pretty boring, depending on the kill time the numbers are pretty solid but it is boring. add in a second target or a council fight and youre gonna be pushed to optimize every havoc window to get the most outta the class, to some thats fun, to others its tedious. But overall it is probably a top 3 spec at the moment, i think according to WCL its shadow destro Fury
Aff is really fun in the open world, especially for higher health mobs. You can dot anything and just watch them slowly die. Destruction is kind of boring, but effective. I haven’t tried demo much, but what I have tried felt very fun and fluid.

The real answer is: “Anything but a Warlock”.
IMO afflic is best for questing, world quests etc.
Its particularly effective in world quests due to all of the insta cast dots. You can tag stuff other folks are killing and get credit for it.
You can load up a npc with dots, and while your pet is tanking it, load up another npc with dots, effectively just chain doting npcs rapidly to death. Its extremely efficient.
I’ve tried demo and destro, and they work, they get the job done, but afflic is just the shizz.

Destro is currently doing better in m+ than demo
The one you enjoy playing the most. They all get the job done.
That being said, Affliction is my go to.
