Hello, new shadow priest player here. I was just wondering if Archon or Voidweaver would be better for World Pvp? More specifically 1v1 situations or the odd 1v2? I also enjoy RBG but don’t play Arena. I can’t seem to find a definite answer, as everyone has their own opinion. But, generally, does one of an edge over the other.

Honestly I don’t even think Archon is very good in pvp in general, due to being tied to a 1 minute CD, compared to Voidweaver who gets a pretty solid threat window every 30 seconds.
Archon is extremely good, I would say almost better if not better than vw. The 1 minute burst windows are lethal with halo and honestly If played right, can kill an entire 3s team by the third halo.
Seems I’m getting destroyed in both trees atm. I have had a few wins. My losses are definitely due to my lack of experience as a SP and most likely my gear (all green PvP gear) does it get better with the 2/4 set bonus?
Something to keep in mind with priest is our need to stack defensives. Flash heal+ fade is a consistent 20% dr. Nothing to turn your nose up to.
4 piece helps. But priest is carried hard by good positioning. We’re slow, so we need to rely on our defensives, and smart play.
Basically the way you survive as sp is by pulling melee into bad spots and reverse pressuring, avoiding avoidable damage like other casters and mm hunters, and being a juke-lord and having precog up a lot.
It does get much better with gear, but it continues to still be difficult
