Im mainly looking for both Alliance AND Horde. I enable world PvP, so i dont mind a side heavily skewed with one faction. Ive played since classic and i miss seeing trade chat lit up with social conversation rather than constant WTS Boosting spam. Good guild and playerbase variety is great but mostly im looking for others anecdotal evidence of social realms that dont mind having another +1! (:
I could be wrong, but wow, just isn’t social anymore (like it was), and that day and age are long gone.
What you’re asking for isn’t a thing anymore.
unbelievably sad if thats the case. still a great game, but social trade chat was the best
I’d have to agree with Elderfin above, most of the social aspect outside of a guild is a dead thing. I’d go out on a limb and say you’re best bet is going to be MG Alliance.
I’d look for Discord communities around the game or the ones in game, there are plenty of social groups, they just tend to keep to themselves these days.
I would go as far as to say gamers aren’t very social like they were back in the 2000s and 2010s. if you know what vent/team speak was then you get where i’m coming from
Area 52 is what I’d suggest. Used to be a pvp horde dominated server. Now it’s still horde dominated but it’s very active and social.
Some people don’t like rude jokes and there are some dumb things said in chat but overall I find most of the people are fun and funny.
I think it’s on central time as the server is located in Chicago so if you run mythics, pug, Idk if that’d be an issue.
Try Area 52. Still social.
No one really talks in-game anymore… I killed the simple flour vendor and a pile of 70s that wanted to get their crunchy frog quest done just stood there… I then ganked some under geared 70s that were flagged and still no one said anything.
¯_(ツ)_/¯
It’s really weird… Folks just stand around having their private conversations I guess. It’s kind of like - you’re surrounded and yet alone.
ill look at area 52! i scoped it out and got a TON of spam but maybe didnt give it much of a chance
That limits your options to… none.
Classic is social. Thats why Blizzard went out of their way to kill it as fast as they could.
classic era is alive and well?
Well, MG is VERY active for Alliance, and a ton of Horde shard into it to visit, and it even has a small but dedicated Horde presence in it. But if you know much about the community, its a mixed, wild bag. Good and bad people in spades. It’s very active, in a good and bad way.
- Pick a high population server, like Area 52 (H), Sargeras (A), Illidan (H), Stormrage (A), Tichondrius (H), Proudmoore (A)
- Leave the Trade (Services) channel
- Join the regular Trade chat (
/join Trade
) - Join the LookingForGroup channel (
/join lookingforgroup
) - Profit?!?
I would recommend leveling a bit on any of these servers to get a feel for them before committing. For example, Sargeras chat is like self-loathing reddit, and Proudmoore chat is like woke twitter.
this is great info and hilarious. thanks so much
Yea it is still very social, just not the way it used to be in vanilla and what not…
It hard to be social. I am on chat mute for being mass reported but I’ve not said anything particularly rude. Is a bit dangerous to type in the game. It feels bad because I got thanked 3 times today for my excellent tanking and I can’t say anything back xD
What a strange comment when Discord exists.
Even if you don’t rp yourself, rp realms might be looking into if you like the social aspect of the game.
