Best Scaling PvP Classes for PH6 in Naxx Gear?

A lot have played private servers, so curious what peoples thoughts are on how well classes will scale in PvP once they are decked out in PvE gear in PH6? Seems like a lot of classes don’t have T3 sets for dps (warriors is tanking, priest/shaman/paladin all healing, etc).

For someone that wont ever be able to obtain the high rank PvP gear, how do the various classes stack up and scale in PvP once you start getting Naxx gear?

The Naxx Attunement is extremely long. Also, the bosses aren’t a “piece of cake” like you may think. Naxx will be a tricky one, even for the top raiding guilds.

It will be about as hard as the first raid tier at the start of retail expansion on normal difficult raids. So, basically anyone who wants to, will be able to do it. It will not challenge top raiding guilds at all.

People have so much time to prepare in advance most guilds will probably steamroll it within the first 2 weeks.

Warriors scale best with the best gear. Naxx gear makes PVP gear look like it was bought in a 99 cent store.

Mages become absolutely bonkers.

yeah man, 30 gold and some items are gonna take forever.

Melee and Warlocks.

Two of the classes that interest me the most are Hunters and Shadow Priests. I hear that they don’t scale very well in PvE, but is it much different in PvP where sustained dps does not matter as much?

Is pvp different than pve? Uhhh yeah? I dont know why youre talking about naxx gear if you don’t know the answer to that already.

Shadow priests in naxx/epic pvp gear basically walk around killing things in 3 seconds.

hpal cause gear actually makes sense for once

-Hpally become unkillable gods
-Warriors continue to scale at bonker levels. No set bonuses no problem when you’re weilding a 95DPS 2H.
-Mage will be pretty crazy

Honestly any class in Naxx gear is going to be god tier compared to non Naxx geared players. The question boils down to who is gonna be the best when fighting equally geared.

As far as Naxx access goes the attunement is not the worst, but that’s only half the battle. We have 0lenty of time to get revered with AD for cheap Naxx attuning and some may go for exalted as a way to kill time. The question is will you be geared enough because vanilla content isn’t difficult as far as complexity, it’s just not the most forgiving and Naxx is the epitome of that design. I’m sure some guilds will actually steamroll it quickly, but the majority of the playerbase is in for a rude awakening.

Warriors, Warlocks.

But that is years away & Naxx is no walk in the park. Anyone who thinks that because 5-mans and MC seemed super easy in classic that Naxx will be too… are going get a huge wake-up call.

this post shows your ignorance and why no one should ever take anything you say seriously again. I can’t even imagine being this dumb lol f…

DPS scale higher than survivability… so everyone start 2-shotting everyonelse. the question become who get the crit first…

be prepared for some 4k fireball / shadowbolt / melee swing (sword spec / windfury proc) and so on.

normal? no.

mythic? for sure.

the first mythic boss of eternal palace literally combine thaddius polarity mechanic with naj’entus spears.

Shadow as I understand peaks with R14 gear and if you can get them Naxx weapons are really nice.

Hunters on the other hand, AQ loot + Naxx loot = god mode. If it’s cloth you will vaporize it.

Leather and other mail also cake.

Plate is still a pain tho, play smart.

it is pretty impressive how literally only 2 people here have any idea what they are talking about.

With Naxx gear (or complimentary Naxx gear because wars and SPs still prefer stam gear from pvp):

Wars: become insanely OP because of weapon + str scaling
Locks: are second best
hunter/sham/druid: all garbage and will not scale for sh!t
paladins: become gods as they crit every heal and tank everything
mages: become even stronger glass cannons but don’t scale like locks do
SP: is only good for 1v1s throughout classic any bg environment they are pretty garbo
rogues: pretty busted but in group pvp you literally need em to hold nodes/flag room so … meh

… it was fun reading comments like " hunters = god mode " LOL … they are literally the worst scaling class in game.

One trip to the AH and some gold. Not long by any metric.

The top guilds will have it on farm the day it’s released. The good guilds will down KT in a few weeks.

Everyone else will struggle on X or Y boss.

It really won’t be. The hardest part will be Healers getting their act together for nastier spikes and odd ball mechanics like Patchwerk Hateful’s and the silliness that is Loatheb.

DPS is already doing its job being hyper optimized and folks are already more than accepting of Warrior/Rogue DPS, so even when fights drag on a bit longer, those classes aren’t going to flag due to longevity issues. Regardless, once we’re out of BWL, the Mages will go Fire, jump up another 100-150 DPS overnight, and things will continue to die minutes before their enrage timer.

Noth has so little health he’s unlikely to make it up to his platform even a single time with the DPS we’re seeing right now in Molten Core.

yeah its true. the forums before classic release all argued that classic is so much harder and not a faceroll. literally 5-6 days after release mc was downed by level 55-56s even with their glancing blow fest that they would provide. naxx will be downed day 1 by those guilds. others may take a few weeks tops. the new classic is min max. people disenchanting prophecy robes, lawbringer etc. back in the day people would jump on it to replace their green or even good blue etc that may actually be better just because its purple. almost all guilds down rag before he submerges which i dont remember happening back in the day until some bwl gear or at least months of farming. its a totally different animal. naxx will go down in hours. all these people saying its hard are right, its harder, but wrong just like they were previous to classic in that all content will be cleared in literal hours.

Folks geared for a presumed need for longevity. When considering Rag, people would calculate in at least one submerge and the goal was downing him before the 2nd because Sons were super scary because AoE was somehow a hard thing to deal with. So if you assume about 7 minutes of DPSing, that’s a lot of mana you need to avoid just wanding. Intellect and Spirit suddenly become massively powerful increases in damage because tossing out an additional Frostbolt was greater than making the previous dozen hit a tad harder.

Now we know if everyone just goes for max raw DPS throughput, you never/rarely hit longevity issues and the boss dies ultra fast. Intellect/Spirit don’t matter, and many boss mechanics just don’t matter.

Guilds now almost trivially drop Rag in the first 3 minutes. I don’t even think 90 sec is all that difficult to pull off, and the top 100 speed kills are all under 80 sec. A 90 sec kill puts you at best at Rank 289.

Then there is this kill:

https://classic.warcraftlogs.com/reports/64KQfvW2XTjNbJaC#fight=26&type=damage-done

41 seconds
If you didn’t pull over 1k DPS, you didn’t make top 7 on that pull.

Noth has 1.665 million health. At this rate, this guild would kill him in ~63 seconds. He teleports to his platform at 90 seconds. /giggle
