Just like the title says, what are your thoughts on the best race for WW monks in regards to wpvp/pvp.
I’m thinking mechagnome may be the strongest coke 8.3 but god I hate the way the armor/transmog is with their arms and legs.
im gonna say draenei or tauren, for the sole reason that i would imagine it hurts alot more to get kicked by something with hooves
This cannot be disputed.
I could break a granite block with a well-placed kick.
Horde : Orc
Alliance : Human or gnome I would guess. NE is nice if you’re a shadowmeld god What I like about human is that it’s BIS for MW as well. I don’t really see mechagnomes being any good, but I don’t know what that duplicate thing will do in pvp
Well they have 3 big racials.
1)The first is the 20% heal if you fall below 20% hp (cheat death mechanic)
2) increase in primary stat the longer you fight the same enemy
3) the mirror images, they do attack your enemy prolly not that much damage tho.
The first 2/3 of their racials seem really strong for BrM and WW pvp and pve
I’m quite sure that it has been nerf to 15% hp, with a CD of 2.5 min. It’s probably gonna be really good in pve for tanks, but in arenas I’m not convinced it will do much. 15% hp with MS and dampening won’t be meaningful at all, unless I’m missing something.
The stat bonus is the equivalent on what we have on other races. The clone spell might be funny coupled with SEF, you could turn into an army of clones lol
You make a good point on dampening. If the heal did get nerfed that may sway my decision then. I’ll look into that thanks
It’s definitely fun mirror images with SEF tried it on PTR especially since gnomes are tiny. You got 6 midgets running around all crazy lol
Might have to go human or voidelf.
If you’re strictly looking at racials, human relentless is probably BIS. Gnome and NE are really good too but I would say gnome is safer because shadowmeld requires a good amount of mechanical skill/game awareness to be used properly. But I feel like this expac racials aren’t as gamebreaker as they were before. Iron dwarves/regular dwarves are good options too.
And if you play arena specifically, past like 2000, meta is a boring game of attrition until dampening, that’s why I don’t see that much value with mechagnomes if you focus on the cheat death racial.
Orc is unarguably the best Monk race for Horde. Stuns tend to mess us up a lot, and the 20% less duration can mean the difference between living and dying in an arena game.
I think Humans are still the best for Alliance. The stun break racial lets them play Relentless instead of the PvP trinket and have all CC reduced by 20%.
Furry… I mean vulpera
Here is my personal list and reasoning:
Yes:
-Human: Stuns everywhere and increase to all stats is good.
-Gnome: You should not be hindered by slows to much but since escape artist is not tied to the medallion this good, extra energy, and 1% haste not our best stat but can’t go too wrong with energy regen, arcane resist is borderline worthless.
-Draenei: The heal is holy based so if you get interrupted it’s not a big deal, always can use more agility, and shadow damage is at least semi-common.
-Kul Tiran: Stun and kock back can make room for a heal, kiting or to run away, 1% versatility is good for pvp is and our best stat, passive heal that cant be stopped, frost damage occurrence is low but the nature resist is great atm, increase swim speed will make it easier to run away via water until out of combat.
-Undead: Will of the forsaken is good with fear being at least semi common, passive damage that heals, cannibalize is useful if your not damaged while using it, shadow damage is at least semi-common.
-Tauren: Aoe stun is not great, 5% health will make ToD more powerful with extra health being good in general, Resist to nature damage is very useful right now, extra crit is not amazing since we don’t stack crit but your bound to do so eventually.
-Highmountian tauren: 1% increase to our best stat vers, 1% flat damage reduction to everything, stun with charge effect could be used offensively or defensively, more meat and fish means less time farming or gold spent for food buffs.
Maybe:
-Void Elf: We already have a teleport but another isn’t bad, the dps/ heal increase is good but is rng, shadow damage is at least semi common, and not having spells delayed only affects vivify.
-Troll: Berserk is useful for increased auto attacks and energy regen, passive health regen is better than none but it’s not very high, 15% reduction on roots and snares is not major for us but is useful
Highly Questionable:
-Dwarf: Stone form is great with debuff removal and 10% damage reduction, but you don’t stack crit and frost damage occurrence is low.
-Dark Iron Dwarf: Removing debuffs to increase damage is great, 1% physical damage reduction is useful, too many useless racials.
Orc: 20% stun reduction is great, but the damage buff is not amazing.
-Mag’har orc: Reduction or duration of poisons, diseases and curses is mildly useful, damage increase is mid tier.
-Mechagnome: Damage increase requires constant combat to gain and maintain, heal is useful but has long cd and only works once until off cd.
-Vulpera: Bag of tricks has potential but I don’t know much it does, Fire damage reduction would be good right now, 5% damage reduction on first hit is weak and most likely the first hit from melee will be an auto attack or generator.
No:
-Nightelf: Shadowmeld is not great it’s more a feral druid and rogue thing to reset fights, 2% dodge is useful but not amazing, Nature resist is good atm, extra crit is not helpful to your spec since we don’t stack it and haste is not either but energy regen is good but what you get depends on the time of day.
-Panda: Your going to need to cook a lot of food to get the most of out this, bouncy is situational, the extra cc is mildly useful since you already have paralyze so it wont last as long if chained.
-Blood elf: We don’t stack crit, one dispel could remove something worthless and a burst of 20 energy is not amazing vs passive haste, arcane resist is garbo.
-Nightborne: Aoe snare is not great nor is the damage, you barely have any magical damage, arcane resist is trash.
-Zanadalari troll: Loa buffs are not amazing for dps, reduced falling speed is situational, heal is stopped if damaged.
You can use it to avoid a inc spell.
If you get good with it you can put the enemy healer in a position to be bouncing off a wall with a punch rop combo.
Thats because you are not a high skill type… that one racial can out perform so many others and has a lot more utility than just going “stealth”, spell dodge, skill dodge, small feign death, etc.
I chose night elf because of 2% movement and 2% dodge (tank main) and meld, of course
It’s hard to argue against Shadowmeld as the best racial if you’re wanting to do M+. However I have really enjoyed the benefits of void elf ww. I parse well because of the racial dmg proc. it’s got a really cool blink also. So for PVE and even pvp I like my void elf a lot. However I’m horrible bias
If you get good with it you can put the enemy healer in a position to be bouncing off a wall with a punch rop combo.
You convinced me. Thanks!
Bloodmallet website sims all races for patchwerk and hectic add/cleave. Right now they have simming the highest damage:
Alliance:
Human - Patchwerk
Void Elf - Hectic add/cleave
Horde:
Tauren - for both.
seems like high mountain tauren would be the best to be.
i like my kt for the feels of a haymaker.
Gnome. Period.
Gnomish fisticuffs extraordinaire!
Tiny punches of death!
Need I say more?
I had this dilemma when race changing my main monk.
Alliance: Human is what I chose. More secondary stats plus the ability to have relentless is super life saving.
If you want more teleports, void elf.
Kul tiran have a nice racial, 1 percent vers and heal for 2 percent all damage as a hot plus the knock back stun is hilarious.
