What would be the best race for a sumo wrestler ( i am going to do him as a brewmaster monk because sumos drink a lot of beer and are real life tanks) but I cant decide whether to go panda, dwarf, or kul-tiran
Kul’tiran or Panda for sure.
Dwarves are stout but they’re not really that portly.

But if you ever look at pics of the yokuzana chiyonofuji he doesnt look portly to me of course he is the exception i suppose also I didnt even consider any horde races

I see what you mean, man them shoulders. He has a bulky mans upper physique and a portly mans belly lol.

Also as to Horde, I don’t really think you get any more options really. I think the ones mentioned were definitely the best.
Horde races whilst bulky tend to be more top heavy rather than the lower centre of gravity sumo composition.

there isn’t much about his routine listed but i do know when he started he kept injuring his shoulders so his coach put him on a lifting routine designed to protect his shoulder muscle in addition to his training so in addition to sumo practice for 5 hours a day this man had weight routine on top of it and most likely since he had been a smoker at one point probablly needed additional cardio to build his lungs. Sumo may look fat but under there girth they actually have larger muscles than most bodybuilders and for some reason less heart disease than a normal obese person most likely from exercise. I see a lot of people here think sumo is just about being fat and nothing beyond it so thank you Haavi for not just saying pick the fattest one.

Since all sumo wrestlers on record are human, it’s between sw humans and kul tiran humans. Of course, I could be wrong.

Tauren. They’re extremely large and heavy. A tauren developing his body for sumo would be unmovable, while having the raw physical strength to push out any of the naturally fat races.
Most matches would be over the moment competitors charge at each other.

Sumo is international now.
Over the past many years they got flooded with European people. Many from the former soviet block countries.
I think they were going for the portly look more than anything. Not all Sumo stars are this anymore. Some of thos former soviet block boys are just big…not fat big.
Got so bad the Sumo league thought they had an out. They put in a rule You must be fluent in Japanese to be in the official sport league. So…the non Japanese Sumo peeps just learned Japanese really well.

My understanding is they also only allow one foreigner per stable
