hey guys I was wondering what healer would be really good for pugging healer for m+ and raid for someone who is new to healing?
For someone new, I typically suggest reactionary healers.
Holy Priest / R sham
I think that Mistweaver feels pretty good.
R-sham I agree with as probably the best new player one.
Note on MW;
Iâve done mid-keys including some tight situations with very little experience as MW, have also a friend go the âMorning Tearâ build and do well too into the early 20s albeit missing damage. Is a good class with options.
It doesnât matter, literally it doesnât matter⊠until you start pushing. 25 and up
Or mythic raiding just pick 1 and go
Honestly this is kinda hard to give advice to. In my experience, healers have a hard time trying to swap to other healers because the playstyles are completely different. Are there exceptions to that? Absolutely. My opinion, what ever healer you feel the must comfortable. I know that is a very typical response but understanding of the spec will help you react and judge the damage easier.
If this is your first time healing, pick what looks fun, not what is âmetaâ. I say that because Blizz can literally hit a button and make that meta healer you try, really bad. Also another thing I am going to say âDONâT USE A HEALING ADDONâ
Healing addons are bad. You can heal at any level with the base frames. On my healers I have all of my healing spells as @cursor macros. If we get a new patch, 9 times out of 10 the healing addon wonât work and people wonât know what to do because they rely on the addon to much. Set your party frames to raid frames and use @cursor macros. Trust me you will be a better player for it.
Wow, I feel pretty attacked atm.
But this is also me 100%.
Meh, I wouldnt say they are bad. They are like the playstyles. Just different. The addons are typically updated within minutes of a new patch.
It doesnt make you a better player not using them. They both act the same way. One is just more user friendly for setting up the same mouse over type macros.
On this one I will agree to disagree. I find that healing addons are just as bad as rotation addons for dps players.
âŠhow?
They dont tell you anything. They are just a UI for setting up mouse over macros.
Vuhdo? Healbot?
They are just a more user friendly UI for your frames and mouse over macros.
This doesnt even make sense lol.
Na, now you should know how to mouseover macro, yeahâŠ
But healer add-ons help immensely. With tracking certain buffs and debuffs that the base ui cannot do, and or does it very clumsily. And makes your job that much simpler.
shaman can deal with everything + kick + lust
Resto shaman is my favorite healer to party with.
Not Preservation that I can 100% say but um Iâd probably say Holy either Paladin or Priest like Holy Priest is more beginner friendly but Holy Paladin whilst intermediate is more capable of damage, has increased survivability and an interrupt which is very useful in PuGs where not many people use interrupts.
Also reading through the replies ignore people saying healer addons are bad and um listen to this person.
Had a friend who I could easily out heal and out dps despite having far lower item level they refuse to use addons and I donât think they even used Macros. So in short AT LEAST use Macros and Iâd recommend at least looking into healing addons.
Also another tip if you use details HPS isnât that important what matters is that your group is alive like it doesnât track over healing so youâre only gonna see high HPS when people are taking a lot of damage.
Resto shaman is the best pug healer. They have the most tools to cover pugs. And their healing style doesnât require much group coordination.
This is not necessarily good advise. Your mileage may vary.
Rsham and Mw feel great to have in pug keys. But the shaman might be harder to get into raids with. Priest having two playstyles might give you more flexibility if you have raiding goals.
MW is probably the easiest. Fistweave has so much passive healing that once you start hitting pug checks you might have to think a little bit, but not much.
Yeah. I only play the one character and half the reason is how long it will take to get decent with another.
Well I already do this! Only heal with the base UI and I donât even use macros lol
