Best priest healing spec for open world?

I want to level a priest to see the priest exclusive Legion content, but I refuse to play a purple smudge.

So, which of Priest’s two healing specs works the best in solo open world content?

Disc. Take Ultimate Penitence.

Questing as Holy is the most boring thing ever.

You want to level in Legion?
Or take a level 80 back to Legion content and run it through?

Play shadow and just don’t turn on shadowform.

You’ll lose dps but probably still do better than a healing spec.

Sounds like OP wants to level a brand new Priest through Legion.

Yea that’s what it sounds like. In which case it doesn’t really matter which spec is “best” as they’ll have limited talents while leveling.

For me it was Holy, mass pulls, using Archon Halo while Holy Fire cleaving down mobs was fun

I leveled as Holy and I like it just fine… dps is lower but it’s so easy to stay alive, and you can do some big big pulls.
