I made a horde alt on Mal’Ganis and wondered if I made the right choice or should I have gone with Illidan? The more populated and on EST the better.
Mal’ganis is a good choice. Illidan is also a good choice, especially if you prefer to speak Chinese as the Chinese pop on that realm is very good.
How’s Area 52?
(Note: also I shortly learned Mal’Ganis is CST not EST… not that there’s anything wrong with that, I just prefer EST if I can help it.)
depends on what you want to do. I was on Tich and they only really PVP and spam trade chat, switched to Area 52 and I enjoy it immensely. People still spam trade but are friendlier, focused more on PvE content, and actual conversations happen in trade chat often.
Yeah thats more what im looking for. A server that’s not going to dwindle and die out any time soon.
Illidan and Tich will be one of the last servers standing.
Area 52 is good too.
I think Thrall is EST assuming we mean Eastern Standard Time. it’s a fairly nice place.
Come join us on Area 52, I need more people to run M+ with lol
Not Moon Guard? Those folks will still be playing even if there are no more updates since it’s all RP and they make their own content.
For EST server, go A52, largest PvE server ever and I think it’s based in the New York data center. Illidan is Chicago.
For PVP though, idk ab illidan but Tich and Area 52 have vastly different social atmospheres. Tich is very cutthroat and players do high level PvP content, as a PvE player I couldn’t find anyone for a damn thing. I can’t speak on the players attitudes since I’m not doing PvP content and I didn’t play with people much before I transferred. Great realm if that’s what you’re into!
Area 52 is more relaxed, I’ve been able to meet a lot of fun players to run keys with just by asking in trade chat.
Zul’jin is EST I’m pretty sure. Atlanta data center if memory serves.
For EST, you are looking at area 52, zul’jin or Bleeding Hollow for the high pop horde servers. A52 is biggest, zul’jin is French-Canadian, and I don’t really know what makes BH notable.
Thrall seems a pretty active Horde server. I’ve got a few alts running around there.
I think A52 is actually larger than illidan or tich currently.
Area-52 is the biggest Horde server. It’s fine. Def a lot of people around. It’s more of a self-contained place as opposed to other servers that have a ton of connected realms and CRZ in open world. You see people from other servers sometimes but it’s not all the time.
The AH prices are the cheapest you’ll find. Terrible for selling transmog stuff, if you do that at all. But good for selling consumables
Latency is fantastic on A52, and it’s super close to where I live (I think)… sadly, when I chose servers a billion years ago, I didn’t take ANY of that into account.
Not many ppl go to a realm that’s synced with their time zone anymore. Do they?
Thrall and Tich would be my picks.
Tich is Cali time and I think thrall is est?? It’s been a minute since I played on either one.
Mal’Ganis isn’t the most populated realm (that’s Area 52 I believe) but it certainly isn’t empty. I’ve been on an alt leveling spree across multiple realms and Mal’Ganis seems to have a lot of active players compared to Bleeding Hollow, which is my main Horde realm currently. I think it might even have more than Proudmoore but idk
