Hello, I made this character about two years ago and I recently got him up to level 25. The Hero’s call board is giving me a few options, and apparently, they need help in Duskwood, Ashenvale, and I think the third one is called the Stone Talon Mountains.
I was talking to some people about the zones and it looks like Ashenvale is at war and needs my help fighting for the Alliance. Is Ashenvale a PvP location or will you be able to continue questing there? Also, is it a requirement to become friendly with the people in Elwynn Forest and Westfall before you move on to Duskwood? Thank you for your help in advance.
Are you still too low for Stranglethorn?

I have heard of that place too, there are so many options! The first character I made went to the Wetlands and I hope to help somewhere else for this one.
Stonetalon Mountains has amazing storyline for the horde, but I don’t know if that’s the case for the alliance. But I’m pretty sure for level 25 alliance Ashenvale is a good viable option. I wish you nothing but the best, and hope you have fun.

Teldrasil/Darnassus to Darkshore to Ashenvale is the typical starting route. If you want to quest in the human/dwarf areas then you need to take a boat or a portal to get to the other continent.
Edit: I meant Darkshore instead of Duskwood. They all blend together after awhile.

Just did Ashenvale and it is a regular questing zone. And it is beautiful. Enjoyed it very much. Watch out though, there are two bugged quests. They don’t effect anything but they are annoying.
Also just did Wetlands and it significantly less enjoyable with the scaling and removal of questlines.
No you do not need to be friendly with folks in Elwynn Forest and Westfall to do Duskwood. Personally, I loved Duskwood back in the day but it may also not have the same impact with scaling. Haven’t gone back because I do not want to ruin my memories.
Do not remember much about Stonetalon Mountains so cannot help you there.

Honestly there is no difference between horde and alliance. Both factions are equally good, what matters is your enjoyment throughout your journey.

Thank you! Do you know if they have changed Wetlands very much since 2009? The zone is looking a little different than it did when I was there previously.
Duskwood, any zone with worgen is infinitely better.

But it isn’t much changed from 2012 outside of the removal of a couple of questchains.
Oh, and the two bugged quests in Ashenvale are:
I could not pick up the Bottle of Wildfire.
The wagon part with the master and gnomes in it would not appear.
Neither quests are part of a questline so it didn’t really matter but In both cases, I went back the next day and were ‘magically’ able to complete them.

Put warmode on and bounce around through the starting areas and the next zone to them. Should get 50 or 60.
Sorry, I am not trying to level quickly, I am just looking for the most enjoyable stories/zones. I am now in Ashenvale and I did two and a half quests! : )
You can do Northern Stranglethorn vale at 25. There is a Worgan in Duskwood at the camp on the graveyard side of the zone that will give you a seed quest.
Actually I think it’s 30 since the zone revamps with Duskwood being 20-30 now
