It is super boring.
I make a bit of gold from Savory Deviate Delights but i want some REAL gold.
Anyone know a good spot to make gold from fishing?
I saw a video of someone getting chest from fishing at Booty Bay, but i spent 40 min there and only got Rockscale Cod.
No one wants Rockscale Cod.

You have to fish in the schools of fish or wreckage to get chests. Run up and down the southern shoreline and fish every pool you see. If it’s not too crowded you’ll do fine.
Chests is this version had been nerfed to hell … greens are rare and I’ve not seen a single blue in the 100s of them, including well over 150 Mithril ones.
I wasn’t sure if chest only came from pools, thank you for confirming.
Is there a specific zone coastline that has a good pool spawn route?
Here is a secret. Wetlands in menethil harbor. Not in pools just anywhere. Catch stuff for alchemy there
Best chests are Mithril ones, southern Stranglethorn coast and others of the same or higher mob levels.

Seriouly, though, I always liked the coast of Feralas. Good mix of debris and valuable schools (assuming it’s the same as in vanilla—I haven’t been fishing much.)
Jaguerro Isle was also good, as I recall.
Azshara always had some high quality fish.
Azshara where all the ruins are and the hinterland’s lake for nightfin. Ungoro is also not bad.
To get my 40 mount, I actually fished in STV river running up and back, getting Greater Sagefish. It was very common that I would run into a wreckage or get chests. Stacks of Sagefish were going for like 3.5g a few weeks ago, prob a lot less now, but I enjoyed my time.
I can confirm that chests DO NOT only come from pools. It’s extremely rare, but I fished up two locked chests from regular fishing, and one was in Booty Bay. All of the unlocked chests I’ve gotten, however, have been from the little schools of fish/piles of detritus floating in the water.
