Late this expansion I boosted a Night Elf Rogue and I’m absolutely loving it (previously my highest character was 50).
Naturally, I have many goals in BFA - like the bee mount and unlocking the Kul Tirans - but I’ve also been delving into the staggering amount of collectables from prior expansions. And while I’m not exactly RPing, Night Elves have been my favorite since the early WC3 days and I’m looking for the best transmogs, battle pets, toys, and mounts that would suit my NE rogue.
I can’t find a discussion topic which gathers opinions on must have Night Elf / Rogue collectables, whether for looks or lore. Anyone have any contributions? I’ve started rep grinding for the Cenarion Hippogryph mount but I need moar!
As far as mounts go, if you arent using a big cat mount or a hypogryph, you are doing it wrong. It doesnt have to be a nightsaber, it could be a tiger, panther, or even shadopan mount.
Get to LVL 120 and farm the Darkshore warfront for the gear set. The Leather set isn’t the best of the Darkshore sets but it’s still a good Night Elf themed set. Then farm the cat mount in Darkshore or save up your commendations and buy the one from the vendor. The new Nightsaber mounts are so much nicer than the old ones.
There’s one that drops from the Darkshore warfront area. Umber Nightsaber. A much higher res version of the Night Elf racial mounts. I like it cause it’s simpler than the Priestess version you get from 7th Legion medals.
I just wish they’d update the model for the Winterspring Frostsaber. Blocky as it is, it’s still my favorite ground mount, but it could be much more awesome.
My personal favorite is totally the Blue Shado-Pan Riding Tiger. Though I do also really like the Darnassian Nightsaber. Both mounts are locked behind daily quests, but I believe the Darnassian Nightsaber takes less time to earn since the shado-pan mounts are behind a rep wall as well.
The basic mount could be the best mount if their models have been updated. The aracanist’s manasaber is the most glorious mount I have found in the game.

Thanks for this tip! Seems like a few others have recommended this area so I’ll definitely check it out. I didn’t realize how much the textures had changed until I tried some old ones - and wow did I look like a dial-up screenshot loading in.
I’m working on a hippogryph! I also generally prefer darker tone mounts and looks.

You have no idea how sad this makes me. I was busy with non-wow life at the time and wasn’t able to play. A real shame - it looks so good.
I totally agree. I like things that fit the theme of my character and my personality is a bit more subtle than a giant core hound or something like that!
