Best mode to farm mount experiment 12-b on?

So I was wondering if anyone knew the best mode to farm experiment 12-b on?

Reading on wowhead a lot of people report getting it on 10n but from what I can tell its highest drop rate is 1.6% on heroic ?

Any insight on this also curious if anyone knows if mounts share the same drop table as gear since 2 pieces drop in normal and like 4-6 drop in heroic does that mean theres 2-4 more chances in heroic? or is mount drop chance totally a seperate roll that is only rolled once regardless ?

Both difficulties share the same drop chance. Mounts and some special items have a separate drop table. If a boss normal drops 2 items, when a mount drops you will see 3 instead of 2.

hmm, do you know if having more people in a run increases the mount drop chance? as in, does it drop separately per person? i’m fairly certain it is
for 5-man dungeons at least, but i don’t know about raids

I don’t think so. There is only 1 mount that has an increased drop rate depending of how many party members you have, it is the event one from kara.

Indeed - more people in the run does not increase the chance of the drop. There is a % chance that the mount will drop in the run regardless of the number of people in the run. If more than 1 person is in the run and the mount drops, only one will drop and the game will pick who receives it.

The only dungeon mount that I’m aware of where the number of people in the run affected it was Nightbane in the Legion version of Karazhan. There was a 20% chance the mount would drop for each person eligible for loot from that run. With 5 people eligible for loot, the mount was a guaranteed drop. This also applied to the Mythic Gul’dan and Mythic Argus mounts until their drop rates were reduced at the launch of BfA.

I was farming the 3 drakes that drop from Dragon Soul about 6 or 7 months ago, I got 2 Experiment 12-B mounts and 3 Blazing Drakes, but needed the Life Binder’s Haindmaden, so I ran heroic all the way through. Probably did less than 100 runs, so I saw an Experiment 12-B once every 50 or so runs.

use any class with a decent range spell cause you are really going to hate the boss trash for this one after 50+ attempts

Yeah I don’t envy that luckily I got the two off madness first so it’s not as bad running to the 4th boss i’m already at around 100 runs though.

I highly recommend for all of your mount runs, That you do them on (25-Player Heroic).

Reason being is that you will receive the most amount of gold by doing this compared to other difficulties from what I have observed. Plus you have chances at the mount(s) you are farming for as well while making large amounts of gold at the same time. :smile:
