Best laptop for WoW under $1400

I’m looking at a few laptops, and I want them to be able to handle Shadowlands. I was considering the acer predator helios 300, but also the acer nitro 5 is cheaper and has good specs/reviews. Anyone have any insight on the subject? basically, the least expensive the better, without sacrificing too much performance. I’d rather pay a bit more if it means I’ll be able to get better performance, but I also don’t want to overpay when I can get similar performance, y’know?

I don’t have specific laptops to recommend, but I would advise not deprioritizing build quality too much. I know you’re focused on performance, but that won’t matter if the laptop is falling apart at the seams a year or two from now. Most assuredly, anything that looks cheap for the specs is going to be cutting massive corners on things like build quality and cooling among other things.

It’s tricky though because in some cases, you’re paying for the name more than quality (e.g. Alienware).

You mention wanting to play Shadowlands, but is there anything else you want to be able to play well? If running WoW smoothly is the only goal, you can safely allocate more budget to things that aren’t raw specs.

I pretty much only play WoW. I’m one of those weird people who has been playing the same handful of games for the past 10 years (smash bros and WoW).

from what it seems, people are saying cpu performance is more important for WoW than the graphics card. i’m thinking about getting the nitro 5 and them upgrading the RAM and ssd

Walmart sells an 800 or so dollars msi gaming laptop.

I don’t know if it’s too late to answer you or not now but the Predator Helios 300 is well built. I would recommend an RTX variation though for some future proofing as upgrading is not possible. It’s well built and a very ‘cool’ system both figuratively and literally.

I’ve got the Acer Nitro with the 1650. Haven’t had trouble running any game so far
