Best kept druid secret bug

This would be the only other viable head piece I would consider using, however it is one of, it not the last piece of the entire set you obtain in IF - Kings area. It is very costly, long, drawn out quest line, however the set is pretty nice!

Actually reading this again, wouldn’t need the helm, only need 4 pieces, so technically you “could” have the 4 pc set proc AND take advantage of the wolf helm

Not a problem, we use MCPs in 2019.

sounds like if you do that without the wolf helm, you still get 60 energy, and you could just go for better stats

The stats don’t make up for losing the extra shreds.

There are no stats that give you as much dps as the extra energy you get from the helm. This has not only been math’d out, but it’s also been proven with actual testing in Vanilla.

We are learning now that the MCP on use effect is best for Ret Paladins and possibly Enhance Shaman so long as they stack spellpower.

Can’t tell if you’re joking or not, but that quest line is rogue only.

I think there is a druid version with procs based on feral form.

You can get the shadow craft 6 pc bonus instead…

Is it!? Well snaps >.<

thats probably a bug.

IIRC druid was the only class that (for cat) would wear a few lvl 45/50 blues, even over Nax gear because of the things they did. Idol of Brutality, Wolfshead helmet, Tome of Knowledge, etc…

There’s more than that, lol, but you are definitely correct that there was very little endgame itemization for ferals.

I never went for this set back in that time, never could remember why, now I do… lol. It is rather silly and odd that druids could not get the same set though, I mean, the stats are set up perfectly and the proc chance for more energy is ideal for us.

Yeah, need more feral end game gear options.

Did they look into wolfshead helm on beta? Are we sure its still granting the energy with furor? I know it was eventually patched out in TBC, is it like it was in vanilla or like it is in retail?

Good question, I never got into the beta and don’t know of any druids that got in which got high enough to check. All I know is that the wolfshead helm should be working correctly during this time period.

Will have to wait and see end of month / early Sept when someone gets around to crafting it.

Man, I am champing at the bit!

Depends… is working correctly not stacking with furor or stacking with furor. Sure for the time period it stacked with furor but it was changed to promote people not using a low lvl helm as BiS, which is still applicable to classic. Just something I was wondering.

Oh sorry, it “should” work with furor as it did during the time period that classic is utilizing. Any change that took place was after the expansions.

I think I mentioned you would get 80 energy but wasn’t paying attention, furor will give you 40 energy and then the wolf helm adds another 20 on top, so every time you power shift to cat, you pick up 60 energy.

If it wasn’t so good they wouldn’t have nerfed it in the TBC to force druids to use other helms.

The logic here is unbelievable. Even if you don’t know exact numbers between the 2 items, circumventing the down time to use energy based spells is going to be an obvious dps increase. At least with vanilla itemization.
