Best hunter proffesion?

Hey just wondering what everyone’s thoughts are for professions for the hunter for classic.

Engineering gives even more utility to a Swiss Army knife class.

Yea I’m debating engineering but am wondering is alchemy or Leatherworking would be better

You’ll get more long-term benefit out of Alchemy than Leatherworking.

Probably skinning/herbalism or skinning/mining. Hunters have the most utility for gathering nodes and grinding out mobs.

Eng is always gonna give you the most tricks and tools to mess around with. If you’re more concerned with making money then go herb/alch. LW is sorta gimped in Vanilla imo.

Engineering means being able to make your own arrows/ammo which is otherwise going to add up in cost after a long while.

In my experience…any combination of two Gathering professions. Or, Skinning/LW.

Start off with skinning / mining, you can trade leather to a LW to make you gear.

At Max level drop skinning to lvl engineering. You should have enough ore and leather saved on bank alts to power through it.

Engineering gives amazing utility but it does something else that is very gold benifit. It let’s you solo dire maul tribute because you can open the door now, you will have the aoe needed to kill the spiders. And it’s the best profession for pve and pvp because you don’t need to be an alchamist to use their potions, you don’t need LW to use their gear, but you need to be an engineer to use engineering items.

Ok but should I do gnomish or goblin for the engineering?

That’s up to you. I would chose goblin but gnomish can be fun as well.

Red has the right of it, and described exactly what I plan to do. As for specialization, it’s a matter of personal choice more than anything else. I would suggest looking at a list of what each spec can make and seeing which you like more.

But I do t want to be a Druid

Some swear by Mining/Engineering, but when I roll a hunter, it’s always Skinning/Leatherworking and you specialize in Dragonscale.

I have no idea but I do know that every time I went to the class hall in Leg, there were tons of blingtrons there.

Not so on my other characters.

if you’re heavy pvp like me then definitely mining/engineering. Save gold for mounts potions ect. Plus Ore/bars will ALWAYS sell

That and it opens up DMT solo to be a lot easier.

I did skinning and leatherworking on my hunter, because of the Devilsaur set. Sure you can always have another character make it and mail it to your hunter, but hunters have the easiest time soloing Devilsaurs for the leather. Alchemy is good for all classes for obvious reasons. And as has been pointed out, engineering is good for several reasons. One reason I haven’t seen mentioned here yet is the jumper cables. As a hunter, you can predict a wipe, feign death, and use your jumper cables on a healer to have a chance to rez them.

Personally, my hunter will be mining/eng.
