Best healing class in vanilla?

Each of them has good points to them:

  • Paladins with high spell crit have incredible amounts of mana, but deal in mostly single target spells.
  • Shamans bring group mana regen and Chain Heal
  • Priests are good all around healers
  • Druids are good raid healers and have potent cooldowns in Innervate and Rebirth

If somebody isn’t used to healing in Vanilla, then Priest is probably the easiest to get by on as you have the most well rounded toolkit.

Druids are definitely a lot more fun to heal with in tbc than vanilla =/
Vanilla druid healing rotation is basically multiple ranks of healing touch, unless you try to go a resto/balance regrowth build.

that’s what I might go for as a healer. that fear ward is just too good to pass by

While Fear Ward is good, it’s arguably not as good as the bonus spirit from being Human.

Especially in the later raid tiers where fear isn’t as common a mechanic.

The one that had at least one talent tree dedicated to healing and a player who wanted to both play in the role, and master it.

Edit: That said, Priests had the most options as to how they could go about mastering it. :slight_smile:

While this is true, getting into a raiding guild and gearing up to be even able and do these later tier raids. Dwarf is still a more profitablea race to be playing. Not to mention how earlyer raids were still relevant even with naxx.

I healed as a druid in vanilla and did five mans in feral spec main healing with a gear swap. It was fun and we cleared things.

The Fear Ward fixation is bizarre. Yes, its useful, but after you get to the third Dwarf Priest its moving into overkill. Besides which, most of those encounters were doable with a skilled tank and NO fear ward. It’s a crutch that people seem to be unwilling to part with.

If they’re passing up a human priest in favor of a 4th Dwarf Priest because “they need fear ward” there are three options in play:

  1. The human priest in question sucks and they’re being nice.
  2. The Main Tank sucks.
  3. The dwarf priests they already have suck.

Fear Ward is excellent for cheesing fights with a fear mechanic. The other racials don’t really compare.
