This, this is Blizzards idea of making “all classes engaging and fun to play.” What a load of BS man. If this is what I have to look forward to in the expac, ill just cancel and take my money with me. Absolutely unacceptable.

Yeah Priest is looking pretty doom. We’ve been vocal about it in all of the Beta feedback but nothing has been done to help it.

Also, doesn’t really detract from the point of Priest beein terrible but just note that this IcyVeins list is terrible, at least the healer one… Automaticjack reacted to it during his stream and I trust him waaay more, he’s been playing every healer extensively.

The ranking as it stands now should be more like:

][Holy Paladin]: Excellent
[Resto Shaman]: Excellent
[MW Monk]: Very good
[Resto Druid]: Good
[Pres Evoker]: Good
[Holy Priest]: Underwhelming
[Disc Prest]: Bad, needs jesus.

It’s possible that both Evoker and Resto Druid have climbed a bit after the recent buffs, so they maybe could be moved to the Very good tier.

“Needs Jesus…” ha! Dont we all?

Yes, its amazing to me the amount of ignore we are getting right now as we apprroach the precipice of another Aug meta. Sickening.

Disc will be fine when TWW launches, i have hope :-}

A priest main doomed about priest in beta? He’s kinda incentivized to do that. What has Madskillz said about healers and how they rank?

Not saying Automaticjak, you, or OP is lying but the priest main dooming about priest in beta calls for a second opinion.

The new expansion will be 90% Resto Shaman and Holy Pallies from the looks of things on the beta. That’s just a fact.

I don’t know who this person is but none of the top healers have been playing priest on beta and during raid testing the class as a whole was an embarrassment.

I’ve seen a few playing Priest.

The biggest issue on the beta is that Holy Paladins and Mistweavers are overtuned and 20-40%+ ahead of everyone else. Both had their S4 healing nerfs removed on-top of getting big buffs to talents and abilities. Blizzard is nerfing them every week and buffing everyone else except Priests.

Holy/Disc are going to come in very rough at the start of the beta and I’m not going to be shocked they both don’t see major hps buffs 1 month in. The biggest culprit is both specs were tuned hard around their S3 tier set bonuses and with those tier sets gone it’s a big loss of hps.

Healer content creater who leans toward resto shaman iirc.

I mean honestly if you watch him I’m pretty sure he’s trying to keep the dooming low, and every time he also clarifies that he expects Priests to be very good in Raids, just not M+ due to the general lack of utility and how it matches poorly against S1 dungeon pool.

I mean in the end it’s all still opinions and predictions, but I do respect Jack’s a lot more than others. And I mean it also happens to be the same thing I observed on my own and why I’m leaving my Priest behind (mained it since Legion).

Also, I don’t think is a particularly debated subject, everyone’s rankings pretty much agrees on both Priests being at the bottom for M+, they just can’t help with stops and have a bad dispel profile for S1, on top of also struggling with mobility (also currently behind in HPS but that can always change). Where Jack rank’s differ is mostly that he puts Resto Druid a bit lower and Resto Shaman / Evoker higher.

The main issue with Priests is this.

Holy lost its S3 tier set bonus which gave you 3 on demand Holy Word Serenitys a minute. The new 4-piece bonus simply isn’t on par. Archon Halo helps with passive healing, but it did not fix the underlying lack of passive healing still plaguing Holy in M+. Holy feels like you can only move health bars with cooldowns now because you have to rotate Divine Word, Apotheosis, Divine Hymn, etc.

Disc lost its S3 tier set bonus so you’re not getting back-to-back Shadow Covenants and then you have the new Voidweaver mechanic where you’re spending 50% of your time with +40% more atonement healing and then it falls off. So Disc goes from feeling strong to feeling very weak and not able to move health bars that much.

Instead of baking both tier sets into the spec: they’re gone for good and were going to suffer until they buff our healing by +20%.

Really? I only watched the mythic+ healer video and got bummed thinking I really would have to switch from my priest main to something else for my sanity. If holy priest is still decent in raid then I will have to figure out how to build mine up there and maybe build up another healer for keys.

I thought holy was dead in the water from loss of tier set in all content.

Holy is also pretty bad in raid because it’s almost entirely based on halo every minute and it does a tonne of overhealing. It wasn’t doing well in the raid testing we did.

You’re basically salv and halo, the rest of your buttons feel completely worthless.

Well that stinks, thanks for the heads up. I am super glad that there are all of these big brain people testing these things out.

I don’t know if I can not play my priest out of the gate to 80 though. But I will probably level up my second favorite healer (evoker) pretty quickly after.

Ok I might need to clarify, I think him saying that healing Priests will be good in raids is also a bit of a prediction, both are still a fair bit behind in HPS based on the latest raid testing results… So if the game were to realese like that then yeah it would probably be DOA for both healing Priests.

But I believe it’s assuming changes and tunning to happen and Priest should be fine for Raid, like there are obvious gameplay issues but with proper tunning it should at least be fine for Raid (or at least viable, very rarely things are “not viable” outside of the top 1%). Now about it beeing “good” as Jack says that part I’m a bit hesitant to belive but I guess it comes down to tunning .

The issue with M+ and why it’s looking way worse there is because even with good tuning Priests would still struggle there.

Sounds good! I will keep my priest on standby as I love raiding as holy. I am not a CE raider and our guild is pretty chill to get to aotc so it isn’t super important for holy priest to be amazing beyond belief. But, if I feel like I am not able to keep people alive then it is time to pause her and play a healer that can.

I am not a title key pusher either but I do hope to get all portals and maybe beyond some. (I don’t really pug so it is up the people I play with) But, again, I don’t want to add years to my life trying to do that as priest when I could have an easier(and funner!) time with another healer I like playing.

This is what I’ve pointed out since day 1. They need to nerf Archon Halo by at minimum 50% and buff up Holy’s overall healing by like +40% or more.

It’s just a bit absurd seeing 10mil healing from Archon Halo which is 4-5x what any raid healing cd does, but then your heals outside of that are so low that you aren’t even going to keep pace with most of the other healers. You could even in theory have 4 Holy Priests chain Archon Halo back-to-back and have a 100% uptime.

With so much power into Archon there’s literally no chance Oracle is going to come close to being raid viable.

Yeah I think my decision to re-roll to Resto Shaman is primarly based on M+, to me it just feels really bad to have no way to help with stops or interrupts and instead having to watch the group die, or attempt to heal trough ridiculus mechanics going off.

The other reason I’d say is because of the gameplay issues with Disc and the void summoner BS.

Yeah for me it’s those two things… I mean there are more problems beyond that but for me personally those two are what made me re-roll.

I hear that rshaman is pretty strong. I have one but I only played it a little bit and then shelved it because a friend was messing around with one at the same time. It didn’t feel like it really clicked for me but I didn’t play it long enough to give it much chance.

I don’t know where evoker lands right now(better than priest so I am already moving up lol) but I like it for the same reasons you listed for shaman. I love the interrupts and the dispels will be nice too.

Also, the biggest complaints on the evoker forums are visage and dragon flying. So, it can’t be doing too bad lol.

I played all of season 3 as disc in keys and it was super fun. I did struggle with movement and feeling so weak when cds were down. Blight of Galakrond was my bane on the 2nd phase. Only really switched back to holy this season because bonkers key damage has been fun. I never could get the hang of raid disc. I was super sloppy at it, I feel the same as restro Druid sometimes.

I haven’t fully decided what I am doing. I leveled up a holy pally finally in mop so now I have all healers at 70. I thought leveling up there would be a great way to learn hpally but that was a silly thought since mop is anarchy with healers tanking and everyone out healing the healers lol.

Don’t worry, even if it is strong at launch it will still be terrible in pugs. We can always find a way to ruin our experience.
