Best healer support class for Hunter

hey all I am leveling up a Hunter for PVE and quests only- no dungeons or pvp and was wondering which healer type will be best to duo with the hunter and why?

I saw pros and cons for resto druid and holy priest but also some interesting topics for a pally?

Thanks for any advice and looking to see why you think your choice works best with Hunter?

Druid, they get Cat Form at level 20 and Travel Form at level 30 so they can keep up with you once you get Aspect of the Cheetah. This means you can both zoom zoom around without having to wait for one another.

Also, they can turn into bears.

Though, low level and feral druids are terrible healers. The mana pool is just too small.

I’d go with a disc priest, good damage and heals.

Depends… are u 2 boxing?
If so use a priest… I just leveled a hunter/priest combo and it was insane… using a owl… bubble him and send him in to attack 4-5 mobs… hitting each 3 or 4 times then moving to the next… rebubble and multishot… fd and then AOE… then multishot.
Priest is there to bubble or heal pet and auto wand (make a assist macro) and I just tore things up!

Druid is nice because it has some cc, and can keep up with the hunter on foot. Thorns also helps pet hold aggro a little.

Paladin is decent with Blessing of Wisdom or Kings. Blessing of might on pet helps pet hold aggro pretty well.

Priest can contribute some decent ranged damage.

All three work fine, but I’d probably pick Paladin or Druid myself.

If thats all you are doing, you dont need a healer partner at all. In fact, you would be better off with a ranged dps partner with CC ability, like a mage or another hunter.

Honestly a mage would be the best, to keep you in food, water, ports and supplement your CC. and AoE.

Why would you need heals? They will stand around most of the time with nothing to do and resort into being a bad dps anyway.

For purely Pve and questing purposes any healer in dps spec will be best.
If you are leveling together, 90% of content you wont need a healer other than an occasional heal. So you want a class that will be dps with the ability to heal when its needed either by switching gear or just having a mana pool big enough to do so.
Paladin’s advantage is Blessing of wisdom, freedom and BoP = less down time, hard to kill.
Druid’s advantage is good dps as feral that doesn’t use mana, good buffs and versatility
Priest’s advantage is great dps level40+ as shadow, good buffs and shield.

Play what you enjoy the most. With a hunter for just questing it wont make a huge difference. It’s more into dungeons, or pvp that the combo could become significant

100% druid
Thorns on your pet and u guys can both zoom around with speed increase.

Thanks all for the great help… I was thinking to go with a dps class like a mage but thought not having the heals on pet and my hunter would be a huge issue? How bad is it leveling without a healer when you are just using a second account to support?

No they aren’t. You don’t heal in agi gear. You collect an intel set to throw on for when you heal.
