I’ve been playing WoW on MacOS since 2006. Now I’m planning on building a Windows PC just for WoW (I’ll use my Mac for everything else).
I’m looking to build a PC dedicated to just WoW. It’ll be hooked up to a single 4k monitor. I’d like to use parts that work best for WoW.
For the processor I believe the 7800X3D is the way to go for WoW, but for GPU I’m not sure which is be best optimized for WoW. I’m willing to invest in a card that will perform well for at least 3-4 years at max graphics quality settings.
Does the AMD or Nvidia brand make any difference for working better or worse for WoW?
On a 4k monitor would something like a 7900XTX/4080/4090 be well utilized by WoW, or would they be wasted?
Purely WoW speaking. Yes and No. I would say this would depends on your build
World of Warcraft is a cpu-based game. Not GPU like other games. Yes your GPU will matter more at 4K than other resolutions but it won’t have the impact that it would in other gpu-based games.
It’s really not a good game it’s going to get the most out of your GPU. The biggest impact on your frame rate in WoW even at 4K is going to revolve around your CPU and RAM choice. So what I’m trying to say is you will find a bigger difference between your CPU and RAM Choice then you would say a 4080 vs 4090.
Yep. World of Warcraft is unfortunately more of a CPU and RAM base game. Example? Me and a buddy have an identical computer build with only one difference. GPU. Our motherboard, Ram kit, psu ect ect are all the same.
We are both on the 13900k with the same 7400mhz g.skill ram kit. He has the 4080 and I have the 4090.
Our frame rate in World of Warcraft is practically identical. Yes this is at 4k
