Trying to figure out what race should I make my monk. What are some good suggestions? I feel like Humans look really cool in xmogs though.
Depends on what you define as cool? Me personally I like conflict between my character’s race and class.
Monk is all about Zen. So naturally my picks would be Orc or Void Elf.

Horde: Tauren. It’s not even close.
Alliance: You’ve got some options here. Void elf or gnome for the hilarity factor, human for the all-purpose kind of guy, draenei if you’d like to add a touch of class to your… er, class.

Gnome, by far the best looking monks in the game. They really look like Kungfu fighters, and because of their size and the exaggeration of movements it feels legit.
Normal sized characters just don’t feel all that special as Monks, and Pandaren just look like they’re belly bumping more than anything.

Play havoc if you want an elf windwalker knockoff.

If you’re looking for a race that fits most xmogs I would say humans, they look good on any transmog you give them,
- No parts clipping out of the armor
- Skin isn’t too discolored
- Textures don’t get stretched out or look too small.
I keep one just for transmog.
Horde side B.E. for transmogging.
Edit: Forgot Monk was about to suggest worgen

Draenei look nice in leather sets, also I like Orc monks.

Damned tiny wannabe monks keep trying to tickle my knees. The joke’s on you, I’m not ticklish.
Draenei and Tauren are out, 100%. Watching them swing those abominations they call legs around makes me want to put them out of their misery.
Horde, I’d go female orc, BElf if you have to, or Troll. Alliance, anyone but gnome. Female VElf looks good, as do Humans.
Surprised no one said this. Both Night elf and iron dwarf for alliance are good. Excellent animations. Horde said i found two thta make interesting one. Really do need goblins. Forsaken is a very unique choice. The new trolls and loa actually make good monks.

I made Draenei for Alliance and panda for Horde. I like them both but there are several others that look good as mentioned already.
I made mine Kul’Tiran. Think it fits pretty well with the haymaker racial, water theme, and Kul’Tirans presumably being alcoholics.
