Check your 1.12 version blue set of pvp gear. It should be hands down better than MC gear. You might need to make up some +hit elsewhere
When the 1.12 version of gear was made, it had a higher item level than MC raid gear
For many classes such as hunter, the helm, chest, legs, shoulders, and gloves of the blue pvp set are even better than T2 BWL gear

this is how it was during vanilla. some of the best gear was from pvp and some was from pve and most people ended up wearing a mish mash of the two, especially if their pvp and pve sets had good 3-5 set piece bonuses or a really strong unique glove/boot bonus power, etc. if the pvp sets they put out were weaker than raid gear, no one would have bothered and vice versa. they obviously designed the pvp sets to be upgrades/sidegrades on purpose so people would do both pvp and pve.
For hunters the helm, chest and legs all have 2% crit each

Since 1% crit is = 53 agi, this makes the blue set better than the T2 chest piece off Nefarian
Same for legs, helm, shoulders, gloves, those are just the pieces I looked at
Some pieces can actually best in slot as individual pieces (legs, shoulders, boots are very good too) and the 2 piece bonus is crazy too. Chest is also insane for people who don’t want to waste a thousand hours grinding savage glad.
I’m glad to see Blizz sees eye to eye with the majority player base on what the true end game is and that the endgame gear reflects this.

That’s not how the system works.
Most people will never make it to rank 10, they are too casual.
People that play daily, but not hardcore will take 4+ months, by then BWL will be out with what is better for most classes in most slots.
True, sucks to be anyone who can’t get rank 10, considering the gear is superior to anything currently in the game

You’re missing the point that by the time you get to rank 10, better stuff will be in the game. Yes it’s best now, but it’s not obtainable now.
I’m pretty sure that hunters use their full T2 set for the 8 piece bonus.
If PvP is your goal I could see pursuing the chest but I’d expect SGC to drop before the amount of time it’d take you to grind the pvp chest. Both of those items are decent but I wouldn’t expect someone using a replacement level item from raiding to do greatly less DPS.

Then itemize other pieces differently to instead get hit from your shoulders. You could use a non-hit ring instead for example.

Yes, some classes can get some good peices from PvP and the 2 set. But MOST will use BWL over it in MOST slots, likely way more than the amount of people that get to Rank 10.
