Switch: Mario Kart 8 (again)
PS1: Metal Gear Solid

Hauh? :face_with_raised_eyebrow: Is this like an “give your own list of your favorite games per console” or your telling us what are the best games per console are?

Also the proper Name for the first Xbox is Xbox Original. Or Xbox OG if you want to shorten it and sound cool.

You also forgot about the PC, though it has way too many best games to count.

I so badly want to agree with you on this! Buttttt -
Halo Combat evolved>kotor>fable!!! Lol so much fun!

Mario Kart 8 and Last of Us both appearing 2x nullifies your entire list.

Besides Double Dash is the superior Mario Kart.

At the risk of sounding self-aggrandizing, Mass Effect 1 and 2 need to be in there somewhere. They took consoles by storm, even if the weren’t exclusives.

However, FFVII needs top billing for PSX.

Fable was good stuff too, but waaaaay oversold. PM needed a real PC platform to deliver his true vision.

Consoles are for the poor.

Why would the thread be taken down and not just placed in the correct forum?

Anyways, you forgot Sega Genesis. Which had Mutant League Football.

Or Dreamcast that had Shenmue

If we include dead consoles then we’d be here all day.

Neo Geo
TGFX16
Atari
3DO
CD-i

The myriad of early 80s atari knockoffs.

Because 80% of the list isn’t dead?

I can’t wait for the next gamecube game to be released.

  1. there was an SNES game released in the last like 5 years, don’t be socked if a new GC game shows up.

  2. I was refering more to the defunct console makers.

Sega Genesis routinely makes lists as one of the top 10 consoles ever made. Its a major factor in how the console market is today.

Genesis: Sonic 3 and Knuckles (ie S3 locked onto S&K)
Dreamcast: Sonic Adventure
SNES: Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past
N64: Goldeneye
Gamecube: Resident Evil REmake
Wii: Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Gameboy: Pokémon Yellow
GBA: Pokémon Emerald
DS: Pokémon Diamond
3DS: Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D (kinda cheating so I can get both OoT and Goldeneye64 on the list, but oh well :slightly_smiling_face:)
PS1: Resident Evil 3
PS2: Final Fantasy X
Xbox: Halo
Xbox 360: Halo 3
Xbox One: Resident Evil 2 Remake (not an exclusive, but I haven’t played any of the XBOne exclusives either)

RIP my original respones.

N64 Contender = Majora’s Mask, Starfox 64, Banjo Kazooie, Golden Eye.
PS2 Contenders = Vice City, Star Ocean, Kingdom Hearts.

Gameboy Color/3DS = Any Pokémon game.

Nintendo 64 had some of the best games ever made and I had the adapter that allowed you to plug GBC cartridges into it so I could lounge in the recliner and play Pokémon on my 65” old flat panel TV.

Didn’t buy a console after PS2 since I got into PC gaming early 2000s.

Or just Xbox.

Nah, too ambiguous. Not many people will catch on that your talking about the Xbox Original unless you specify. That’ll be like saying “i got this PlayStation”, You wouldn’t know that i’m talking about the PS2 until i specified.

Anywho for my personal list since i skipped over the first time around…

GBA = Super Mario Bros 2
PS1 = Spyro, all three of the games on PS1.
PS2 = Tony Hawk games. From Pro Skater 3 to American Wasteland. And GTA SA and VCS.
Xbox 360 = Red Dead Redemption and Skate 2 - 3
PC = literally too many to count. I don’t wanna be here all day listing them off. But if i have to pick one off the top of my head, it’s gonna be The Sims 1-3.

We do have an N64 and Switch, but my brother only plays them. And yes, i have a short list cause it’s the consoles i have played (beside the Xbox Original but that time window of playing it was so brief and i don’t recall any games that i can say my best), cause i’m a PC gamer now a days. (Again, is this a “list your own personal list” or what?)

it is the first Xbox, which is the Xbox One, that’s it’s proper name, not my fault Microsoft is unable to count.

To call this list subjective feels like quite the understatement. Are we talking technical brilliance? Story? Entertaining gameplay? Some kind of weird fetish? What makes these the “best” compared to something else, and how do we accommodate for titles we’ve not played?

For example, I would consider Blast Corps to be the best game on N64. Is it as grand as Ocarina? No. As renowned as Golden Eye? Not a chance. But is is an absolute ball to play? Oh yeah.

Here’s my list of favorites. I haven’t played a lot of the “best” games so that’s why things like Witcher 3 aren’t on here. One day I’ll play it.

2600: Raiders of the Lost Ark
NES: Mega Man 2
SNES: Final Fantasy 6
N64: Ocarina of Time
Gamecube: Metroid Prime
Wii: Super Mario Galaxy
Wii U: Not a lot to choose from so I guess Mario Kart 8
Switch: Breath of the Wild
Game Boy: Pokemon Yellow
Game Boy Advance: Metroid Fusion
DS: Phantom Hourglass
3DS: A Link Between Worlds
SMS: Wonder Boy 3: The Dragon’s Trap
Genesis: Herzog Zwei
PS1: Metal Gear Solid
PS2: Grand Theft Auto 3
PS3: Red Dead Redemption
PS4: God of War
PSP: Lumines
Vita: Adventures of Mana (I haven’t played much else)
Xbox: Halo
Xbox 360: Fable 2
Xbox One: Gears of War 4

Except that not it’s name. It’s the Xbox.

Okay so…
Xbox One.
Xbox 360.
Xbox One.

… Doesn’t the… xbox one… come after the… xbox 360?

At least you specifed it somewhat by calling it the First Xbox.

And yes, i know this is an utterly trivial thing to correct you (and possibly other people) on about, but it’s an honest pet peeve of mine of playing saying they got the thing and don’t specify exactly what thing they got. for example you might say “i got GTA today and it’s awesome” … Which GTA?

Don’t worry, Microsoft can’t count to 4, 5, 6 or 9 on Windows Os’es either.
