I’m going to be honest, while I am still using the Underlight Angler, Perception confuses me. Its a stat, but is it an expansion-specific feature or is it applicable to old content as well?
I know with base +Fishing, it increases your odds of getting rarer items more quickly, and Perception claims to be a stat designed for that, but if I take an Underlight Angler and a Fishfriend to Org, is the Perception going to aid in catching Old Crafty?
I’ve tried looking around but all I see is just the generic “helps you loot rarer items” which means nothing when the Undercurrent ability for the Underlight Angler just says “Teleport to the nearest fishing node” and ignores non-Legion fishing nodes (despite that clarification never being specified).

Mines ,underlight ,waterwalking and underwater breathing- transformation works wonders.
Can you still obtain the Underlight Angler?
I believe you should still be able to
Yeah but the Kuluuak pole also looks amazing and the legion pole looks like something you found in a dumpster behind the Red Lobster.
hey leave mr dumpster treasure alone lol

Lol i have the basic one. No stats and my fishing is maxed and i fished all the stuff needed for otto. So i dont know if it makes a difference
I wish you could transmog the kaluak fishing pole over the others or we got an HD model.

I love my dead murloc on a stick. That’s really the main reason I got that pole.
My dracthyr got the Underlight Angler in the prepatch.
As for whether it’s worth it … I have absolutely no idea how much perception a point of fishing skill is worth. Without gathering hard data over a large number of casts, I haven’t even been able to convinced myself fishing skill even matters.
